The 456M GTa has been wonderful, but I'm going to sell it in the fall and get an FF. Since it's one of only about 15 in Rosso Corsa in North America, it should move easily. Plus, I've put over $30K into it, and it's a much better car than it was when I bought it. Perfect choice for my first f-car. Learned a lot and enjoyed driving it a lot.

    Cheers,

    George

I bought my 456 GT two years ago when I could see that values were on the rise, particularly for rhd manual cars. I had taken my time and carefully inspected
and driven eight different cars. I suppose I am unusual in that I prefer the early frontal styling with the bonnet vents and much prefer the center console, seats
and dashboard of the original cars, particularly the non airbag wheel. I did also drive later cars for comparison but was unable to detect any extra smoothness
with the M's altered firing order or the allegedly tauter suspension. What was abundantly clear was that a number of the allegedly low mileage cars showed wear and tear that did not jive with their supposed mileage. Three cars were clearly genuine low mileage cars but all disappointed with sluggish performance
and soggy controls plus a fair measure of the usual 456 issues plus the inevitable high asking prices.
I eventually found a handsome blue pozzi/crema 1994 car with 74,000 miles on the clock. It was amazingly free of damage or corrosion and drove with a
positivity and crispness that was a revelation. I bought it for a price that was commensurate with the mileage. Sadly I have a number of other cars claiming
my attention as they go through major upgrades or renovations but recently the 456 has gone in to the shop for belts/valve clearances, dampers and
accumulators and window issues as well as a few minor glitches. When it comes out I look forward to driving it far and fast year round in all weathers. I
fully expect to run it well past 100,000 miles and will take it to Germany where it can really stretch its legs. Do I care about what mileage will do to the value?
Hell no! I bought it to drive and enjoy and I expect to end up with the best driving 456 around.

    Hi,

Unusual? My thoughts exactly, except that I wanted LHD, perhaps a bit easier to find. But agree on the feel of some cars I also drove. The one that fealt the best was the one I bought. The facts that it is a Japan model and there was no service history only helped me with the purchase price. ;) IMO it was obvious it had been taken great care and drove like it should. Still does.
