I have experienced many cars and with business cycles and opportunities to start new companies, it seemed like my timing was off. My favorite Ferrari was my 2007 F-430 manual transmission. The housing decline took my company from 80 down to 23. I opted to sell my car so I could keep more employees thru the housing crash knowing that was the right thing to do.
Yesterday I made a trip to Chicago to finally get a test drive. I gave up my search for another manual transmission 430 and sent a deposit for a 488 GTB 7 weeks ago. At that time I had not seen one in person. I was concerned that the design might be lacking since Pininfarina was not involved but I was mistaken. I was smitten with the design of the 488. Check. Then yesterday arrived and I was sure how could this be that much more fun to drive over my last 458. I was so wrong. The 488's power is awesome, no observed turbo lag, the shifts are snappy and almost instant. This was not a short drive but lasted an hour. I believe this car might finally take the place of my all time favorite Ferrari. It looks like a Q1 2018 delivery will be realistic. Thank you for all the comments here on the 488. I have read, analyzed and enjoyed them. You are all great enablers!!

I have some time. Definitely Rosso Scuderia and tan. Carpet color either tan or black. I am probably going to order shields, painted calipers, CF driving zone plus CF dash and CF upper bridge, Daytona with red inserts, electric seats, red stiching, Inner and Outer Electrochromatic Mirrors + HomeLink, rear camera, diamond cut rims and front parking sensors.

Congrats Racer! I'm curious on how it compares to the F430 especially on power delivery. I love my F430 but the 488 looks incredible.

Today I received word from the factory that my 488 GTB will be built in December. Looks like a great 2018!

Congrats! As a new Ferrari owner I have to say I agree, I didn't really "get" it until I test drove the car. I feel like it's the perfect expression and balance of technology being used to enhance the emotional experience!

To this day the 458 is the best all around road car I've ever driven much less owned. There is nothing like Ferraris.

Congrats!! I picked up Rosso Corsa 488GTB last Monday. I also have 570S and previously 2017 NSX. I agree with you, the car is amazing. The sound, power, zero turbo lag. To my biggest shock is how NA like it feels, my NSX is Hybrid and it gets off the line with zero effort, just tap the gas and it goes. My 570S has terrible turbo lag. The 488GTB has similar instant off the line feel as the NSX and a ton more torque and power. The short gearing really made this car amazingly fun to drive.

The sound in race mode is incredible, especially on downshifts, I do not think there is a better sounding turbo car. After a week, now my 570S feels so boring in comparison.

Today I drove a 14' 458 spider, 17' 488 coupe and a 15' F12. They were all great and I can't decide. Thinking 458 spider and they will get me an immediate allocation for a 488 spider and I can spec it myself. This may be the answer. Decisions....

The lack of turbo lag in the 488 is amazing. Conpared to Mclaren whose cars have massive lag the 488 is something out of this world.

Last Wednesday I picked up my brand new 2018 488 Spider, moving up from my F430 Spider (which I absolutely loved). The car is incredible!!! Like others have posted, I am quite surprised at the lack of turbo lag. The car pulls like a freight train and although I think the 458 is a fantastic looking car, especially the Speciale, I think the 488 looks even better. I spec’d the Goldrake racing seats and I’m thrilled....they look great, are very comfortable and provide a ton of lateral support. Like many others have posted, it’s a fantastic car and I can’t imagine that you will be disappointed. Congratulations!

I'm liking the sound of the carbon bits in the cabin. Would you ever consider carbon trim pieces on the exterior as well?

Oh my god, could somebody please complain about the 488 not sounding as good as a 458, or maybe remind me of the higher revving 458 engine or the other litany of 458 comments that litter other 488 threads.
