Agreed. Thank you for helping me come to my senses!

  3. Perfect decision. Cars should be driven and enjoyed. Especially such nice Lambos. You will make a lot of people happy when they will see your car on the road.

Please, let me know if some one has got the SE30 steering wheel cushion (center insert). Sadly, it's finally NLA from Lamborghini.

Excellent decision....AND miles on a car for the most part really are not going to hurt the value of much....after all, what would you rather have..the experience of the car, or a couple extra bucks at time of sale and never had the pleasure to experience such a great machine??

I have well over 30K on my 2010 LP6704SV car #12, 1 of ONLY 2 in the USA with a gated 6 speed manual tranny AND the only one with the small speed wing..... I plan to have 50K on it within the next two years....I could NEVER have replaced the joy I have had with it even with an extra $100K value added to it...same with my 2000 Diablo GT car #74....you CANT BUY enjoyment like this any more.....drive it and smile with every mile. Congrats again.

It is always difficult to make general predictions about future relative values. Given that the GT is nearly twice as rare, it seems reasonable to assume that GT values will remain to be higher than the SE. Most asking prices that I have seen for the GT over the last couple of years are about double of that of the SE. But with so few of these cars made, as in other car markets it all depends on the individual condition/originality/history/options and overall significance of the car in question. This is especially true for the Jota; I believe there should be great variety in prices there, with some cars being even within the standard SE price range and others in GT range or possibly even higher. There are differences between these cars that affect value, for a variety of reasons. Of course, each owner/seller will tell you that their car is one of the nicest/rarest and ask top dollar for it, but in reality few Jota are of particular interest.

Like many others I believe most Jota are really nice and special cars, and the interest for these cars are reflected in market prices. But to be realistic, the Jota are almost identical to the standard SE, they should not be compared with e.g. the F40 to F40 LM (with the exception being the three Jota P-series cars). As Emilio already indicated, these kits were originally developed for racing purposes. When this project was cancelled, Lamborghini decided to offer the Jota kit to their clients as an option for the SE at a price of about 20K Euro, which was only a small fraction of the SE price in European countries at the time. The Jota should really just be seen as a standard SE with an exclusive and original factory option that enhanced performance, not as a special kind of model on its own.

No, that car was not wrecked as far as I know. A previous owner heavily modified it by painting it orange and fitting and new black and orange (I think) interior, etc. I was told that he sold the SE30 wheels when he did the mods.

I believe somebody bought it and has restored it back to SE30 spec, minus the wheels.

    Thanks TSS,
That does sound suspiciously like a car that was wrecked, maybe more than once.

The image isn't so great but, I do notice that the headlights seem to be too deeply recessed and the front bumper appears to be a different color (shade darker, across its entire length so probably not a photo artifact)

If they can get that money for a car that has been repainted two times, well, that would be awesome :)

Well, it may have been, but I'm in the UK and I've never heard that it was. A few years ago I discussed this car with one of the guys that did some of the conversion work when the then owner was adding the Diablo GT bonnet and other non-SE30 stuff and he never mentioned anything about any accidents. He just said that the owner had rather poor taste! And he couldn't understand why the guy wanted to modify an SE30!

I'm sure there are people on this board who know more than I do and will comment if they see fit.

The car has not been wrecked!
The owner at the time saw an SV in orange while it was being serviced at the same workshop and decided he wanted his SE30 in the same colour.

#143, no sale at 230.000 GBP high bid; which seemed a realistic bid considering originality and the work this car will need

I took a good look around this car at the auction preview yesterday. The paintwork looks OK, not amazing but not bad. As JTSE30 says, the headlights do look slightly recessed more than normal, but only at their front edges. But they are both exactly the same amount recessed, so I'd say more likely the way they were fitted during the respray rather than accident damage.

The interior wasn't quite correct, carbon fibre console around the radio / aicrcon controls is missing and the traction control switch is missing. Also had an extra SE30 logo embroidered into the centre "armrest" area which spoilt it. The wheels looked even more out of place in real life than they do in the photos.

However, other than the above it looked like a tidy car and I think it's worth more than it bid to. I'm no expert, but in my opinion it was a strange choice of auction to enter it into. Most of the other cars there were not even £50K cars. The target audience was probably not in the market for a £250K+ car. I chatted to a few of the other viewers and none of them knew that an SE30 was any different to a regular Diablo

Is it a well-known thing that Horacio Pagani left Lamborghini during the Chrysler days, founded Modena Design, and was responsible in whole or part for the styling of the Diablo SE30th Anniversary?

It is stated by Pagani on his website that he "collaborated in the design of the Diablo Anniversary".

I never heard of this before either!

Someone should speak with him for more detail.
