I need some help while checking a fuel leak I came across this big block with a dial it is set to 41 goes to 100 what is it? Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my FRD-L14 using Tapatalk
Looks like a thermostat for an aftermarket fan maybe? Do U have a fan installed behind your transmission? Try following the wires
I just bought the car and I have not tried chasing wires I do not see a fan in the rear. Sent from my FRD-L14 using Tapatalk
Could this be some sort of valve bypass ? Or something to do with suspension? Sent from my FRD-L14 using Tapatalk
Oh Boy that is interesting! Yeah, you will want to chase those wires wherever they go and report back.
So I guess this is not a common modification? I will try to chase the wires and report back Sent from my FRD-L14 using Tapatalk
So I googled timer relay and yes it does but what is it there for? Found this picture on the internet Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my FRD-L14 using Tapatalk
You are all wrong. It is the bypass for the Warp Drive. Once initiated you have 41 secs to change your mind.
Oh boy.. redneck hackjob. You gotta trace it and find out where it goes. I'll bet it goes to the blower that injects air into the manifolds at startup. The 360 actually has a pretty good wiring loom. When the wiring is intact, you don't get many funky electrical issues. When people hack things into the loom, thinking they know better than the electrical engineers that designed it, you get decreasing reliability. Find out where it goes, get the OEM components and get rid of it!
So it might be the car is euro spec so maybe it has something to do with emissions Sent from my FRD-L14 using Tapatalk
Mine is euro spec too. See that braided hose below it in the picture. I'll be that goes to the headers. Mine does not have that. I'll bet that's the hose to the air pump that goes to the headers.
Does the little red box make a "ticking" noise when the ignition is on I watch a lot of movies, so it looks like a timer on a bomb.
Mine is EU spec, and nowhere to be found. My guess would be a fan, maybe to cool the enige and thats why there is a relay. I'm saying this not as a F-car professor, but as a trackbike professor, on bikes they do this.
That is super interesting! A Digital Time Delay Relay! I didn't know such things existed! The pictures you are showing are two different units that have a different range for the delay. I know we like to think we are all mega-minds in here...oh wait, or is it just me?...but I would post this in the tech section to cast a bigger net of expertise and share this curious modification. The good thing is that it looks like it can be zeroed out to not induce a signal delay and test but you really need to find out where it goes!
