New F2 car for 2018 with halo http://www.gpupdate.net/en/gp2-news/357682/fia-formula-2-unveils-new-2018-package/
I hate the Halo. Too much "nanny state" thinking getting into F1. The whole point of an open wheel car is that your vision is completely unhindered. Part of the thrill is that you know how dangerous it all is. A bit like riding a motorbike on both counts.
Have they actually answered (or attempted to answer) whether it's going to be harder for a driver to extricate themselves from an upside down car? I don't really care about tradition in any way, so I have no problem with it from that point of view, but I just don't see it doing what they think it will.
hmmm, seems courageous to me, more ratepayers money being handed to spruikers. Classic Adelaide has adopted speed limits (130 and 190kmh depending on class) in order to reel in the enormous insurance costs and get more entrants at a lower up-front cost. I wonder how many people there are in QLD with caged & log-booked cars to support a Targa Tassy type event?
OFFS....REALLY! This is now about the third time something like this was mooted. The first was about 22 years ago by an acquaintance from Townsville. Needless to say it went nowhere as one of the relevant councils showed no interest. I will keep an eye open should it go ahead as we have some gun ranges up here. I can't see the organisers closing any of the 4 main Tablelands to Coast roads though. I wonder if Mark has told the councils that the roads actually have to be closed for this event to go ahead.!
BAS&ARD!!,now look what you've done. Currently getting prices from Repco for new straps, helmet and seat!. Gone to my tyre shop to see what they can do for a set of 6. Working out how much I need to ferret away each day to pay for the entry fee. Working out how to bribe the doc(OH HANG ON,PAT'S HERE!!!),to get my physical. Going to see who I can hoodwink into being navigator(Gizz, you know some of the roads up here).
No, you need to bribe me so I don't mention the herpes. Gezim will lead you off course to the tobacco farm for some chop-chop
While I am happy to drive on the same road with you (normally in front), there is not enough money in the world to pay me to navigate. Karl is obviously stupid enough.
I'm the perfect navigator. Don't get car sick, or scared and no sense of smell. Perfect for those drivers with pneumatic bowels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nup,I'm going to try and collar a couple of local councillors this week and see if I can weasel out the ones on the Tablelands. I can,at best, only see the Gillies being the off-coast to Tablelands route, they'll never close the Kuranda to motorsport, though they do for the greeny pushbike races.
The memories!! I've just done a deal on an MX5 Race car. It's done Targa a couple of times, and the MX5 challenge. I should have it at the shop this week. I've got to do a little body work on it, and a set of tyres. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
