Hi Rob sorting out on a priority basis, learnt from 308 that old Italian electrics are probably best refreshed due to corrosion in connectors and also the sleeving becomes brittle with age, plus get rid of less than ideal additions.

Managed to get an almost ideal leather match so re-trim is largely the small under-dash panels, trans tunnel and sill covers. Also correcting up some normal fit and finish issues. The seats have cleaned up pretty well so leaving alone for the time being as intend now the other project is almost finished to make sure we are ready for 2018!

I will look forward to seeing her in the flesh mate. A labour of love. I so love the colour combo in your car. Stunning. Still have a copy of the photo shoot that Dan Pluck did with the blonde model in the matching blue dress.

Old italian anything needs sorting out in my humble opinion. Your car is in great hands for the future!

Main harness now out of the car, a lot easier than I thought, simplified by Lamborghini splitting into sections I guess to minimise investment between LHD/RHD variants + different market options.

Will take plenty of pictures and diagrams before stripping down relay/fuse board and then will drop off for new harness to be made (lead time approx 3 months).

Good opportunity to refurb all the interior parts like pedals heater blower etc and get all the dust out of the car.

This is a fairly straight forward job, probably about 6 hours total to get all the interior parts out that are being re-trimmed plus the harnesses out. all of the major work is with the trimmers and harness specialists once I drop the parts off.

Ha ha agree, a few sharp edges too where the sides are for the glove box, mounting of the dash is also pretty heath robinson, as are the trim fixes on the lower dash!

Simon, would I be correct is saying that the the fine white powder we are looking at everywhere was caused and left behind by the bodyshop which repainted your car?

Yes just sanding dust, looks worse on the pictures than it really is, quick vac and wash up and then repaint some of the tubes, plus tidy up all the pedals, heater blower etc.

Strip down all complete now and starting to put things back together, fan motor has been rebuilt (only really required a bit if oil in the bushes), AC Rad casing all stripped down ready for re-painting and all the other brackets clutch rest etc ready for re-paint. Assembled the brand new column switches luckily found on ebay for not a huge amount of £.

Parts will be off to the trimmers at the end of this week.

Nice work, looking good, the point I was wanting to convey was that a bodyshop is a harsh environment for any car that is still assembled because of all the sanding dust.

Pressure tested AC evaporator and discovered that the alarm installer had drilled through the side straight into one of the tubes, this is generally why I prefer to work on my own cars to avoid these kind of problems.

Will hopefully be able to get re-cored.

Few more bits arrived, new vent/switch plate and new vents, the harness has gone off to be copied, also managed to fix the hole in the evaporator using a blind copper rivet and then soldering in place (holds pressure now and only partially lost one fin). Image Unavailable, Please Login

Has anyone got a decent picture of how the front fan is mounted in the front trunk area, I am not sure the fan on my car is correctly mounted and would like to get this corrected? Just deciding whilst I am in on the front compartment to go through the suspension as well as it is not a major job to get it unbolted. Just waiting on some quotes for new Bilstein shock absorbers.

Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Cracked on a bit today and pretty much got one corner off the car, fortunately all of the bolts were co-operative! AC unit partially rebuilt just waiting on a duct from Eurospares to finish up. Harness will be 10 weeks so hopefully can get all of the front end tidied up by the time that arrives back. Also changed out the oil cooler fittings as one had split and was beginning to weep a little - suspect these were over-done when first assembled.

Hi Mike it is the spal/smiths fan on the other side I cannot figure out, seen various brackets on different cars to mount it to the chassis?
