Do somebody in europe have to sell sport camshafts for the 512tr engine like here: http://www.carobu.com/512-tr-551-hp What I have to rebuilt to install Turbos for my 512 tr. Please only answer from people that want to share informations. I seek optimal response and no problems at racetrack. My friend has built at his 360 Stradale a novitec compressor and have only problems since that when he drive at the Nordschleife racetrack. Maybe someone has more modern ideas as koenig Specials..... Thanks Tim
If you boost your ferrari engine with turbos or supercharger its not good for the track. There is a lot of work and development that goes into a factory built boosted engine to make it relaible when used hard. Why not install a 512 m engine
the problem of compressors are the belts. They become too hot and tolerate the continuous accelerating and braking ad midway engines. My 512 TR engine is already more compressed, other control times, special software from Ferrari, polished channels. Since he is in the F355 body, sucks the intake air is already pushed up at the side windows in the sport air filters. The exhaust is rebuilt again perhaps with Aluminium. In the transmission, I have a stronger mainshaft. The 5 courses are a drawback on the race track. The aerodynamics have already been enhanced by challenge wings, front spoilers with splitters, other rearview mirrors, diffusor under the gearbox and conversion of the floor. The Challenge wing I want electrically adjustable. The next step is to facilitate the fabric through carbon doors, mudguards, bonnets, bumpers, lighter battery. Then possibly a better suspension of KW with control by Smartphone. https://www.kwsuspensions.de/produkte/gewindefahrwerke/ddc The 512 motor has the best weight distribution for the race track. The old cars are faster than new racing cars are shown by the fact that in 1983 Stefan Bellof was the fastest time ever with the Porsche 956 with flat Six Turbo motor. http://www.nuerburgring.de/stefanbellof.html The Turbos today are different to Turbos before 20-30 years. Typically with forced induction, the cam timing can be on the mild side. The blower is forcing air into engine. Doesn't need duration to raise HP!
this motor has other camshafts.... So what I have to rebuilt exactly and does the more power bring better times at he Nordschleife? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Melvok I do not like modern cars like Porsche GT3 or modern Ferraris with F1 and little V8 motors..... To drive a 512 ist wonderfull, to drive a modern F355 with a old 512tr engine is more wonderfull. You look in the mirror and see the motor and hear and feel it. My Maranello 550 is wonderfull to drive and easy. The F512GTB ist very dangerous to drive. Nothing for young people. No ASR.... It is a shark! The 458 is good for people that cannot repair the car self. Very good Quality. But when you need a new transmission or new brake disc, very very eppensive.... But the old Ferrari with manual gear are more feelings to drive....
I once needed repair of my 512TR transmission / gearbox ... and it did cost K€ 20 !!! The same price as a replacement DCT for a 458. So ....
when I repair the transmission I have 4500€ material and my time.....material:stronger main shaft and repair diff...
DCT=DSG....Double Clutch Transmission Seals new.. bearings old...they are ok why new screws for the crown wheel? At the moment I built new garages and so I have the place at home for repairing
I had to replace crown and pinion Tim, cost of € 7000 alone ... and some gears were not fine anymore ... Quickly that gives a repair sum of around € 20.000 ... and a DCT repair is between 10 and 20 ...
I have no Turbo and not so much Power.... I plan to drive 15.000km in 2018 with my F512GTB.... How many km you drive in 2017 Romano?
with the competition? 0 km with the BB: about 1500 too much to do and also 4 month vacation during wintertime
Woow ... that's a lot of kilometers driving ! I do 8000 a year and think thats quit enough Where do you plan to drive too Tim ?
At my first driving day I drive 700km with my F512GTB....it was so wonderful to drive...like a drug...280km/h with old tyres and this little steering wheel. I drive in all Germany, Swiss and Italy. Take my Ferrari with the trailer with me and drive where I like. Live ist too short for not driving Ferrari/RR.
Come visit Holland on Oktober 2nd 2018 ! Plan it ! The unique 512GTB must also be seen in my coutry during our 10th Ferrari Herbstfahrt !
Hallo Melvok, ok we will see. To drive Ferrari in Holland is not funny with this speed limits.... But with my Rolls Royce I must visit Brabo cars in Holland, because an Electronic chassis problem and when till that time my Rolls Royce has the trailer coupling .....I can trailer the F512GTB through the Speed Controls of Hollands Highways!....
Yes, put her on the trailer and drive with us ... More German and Belgian drivers accompany us Example of 3 weeks ago ... Put it in your agenda Tim, we got to see that car ! And a nice YouTube of 2 years ago ... German friends ...
