I agree...They should have rounded the edges and had it flow up from the bottom smoother if they wanted to do it like this. The way they did it is awkward.
Related Midwest and Tucker Development filed a zoning application for a 51-story skyscraper. This will be the tallest building in Fulton Market at 570 feet. This area is exploding with developments and is west of the loop and Dan Ryan expressway. McDonalds new headquarters is under construction a few blocks away. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Of course, it's fabulous compared to 100 N. Wacker... Huge massive high-rise supported on a few 'tinker-toys'.

More old Chicago photos. I think Chicago has torn down more great old buildings than most North American cities have, other than NYC. The Federal Building torn down in 1966(top) is one of the many cases. Daley should be ashamed of himself. Some photos of the type of buildings Chicago has thousands of. They have torn down many of them but still have even more left. The top floors are as they were built, most before 1920 but the 1st floor on many are ruined with poorly designed store fronts. Interesting photo comparison from 1925 and now. The bridge is still there but most of the track are gone. 18th street bridge(bottom of second old black and white photo) is also still there since I was standing on it when I took the photo.
