I think the the FIA Homologation of this uniquely configured engine bodes well for the future of the Downdraft, contrarian views about that are just fine. Image Unavailable, Please Login

FWIW, Patrick Mimran's Nuova Automobili Lamborghini SpA became effective on Monday September the 1st 1980, as this original letter confirms. The rest, as they say, is history. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Waiting for you in Miami with your tool bag to change the exhaust! : ) Please let me know when you are here.
I'll give you advanced notice! Seriously I'd be honored to help with anything that results in one of these cars getting back to original specification, I'll wager that perhaps it can be tuned to run even better than it does now. Do you have the small or larger diameter tipped sports exhaust? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am told this is the only Downdraft (RHD) in South Africa. Perhaps Robert W knows more? Image Unavailable, Please Login

Can you let me know the source of the photo and any details you have? New one on me. Do you know if the car was new to South Africa or a UK import to South Africa? I know of most of the RHD Countachs in South Africa, although the South Africans keep quiet about the cars they own - the Lambo Club in South Africa was set up just with christian names and no surnames and no admission of what cars were owned by who...but there are some fab cars over there hidden away.
The photo was made during the 50th Anniversary year @ Lamborghini Johannesburg. I believe this car did not go to Portman Lamborghini first, but I still cant confirm that, more as soon as I can find out. Yes indeed, in a fair number of collectors I know have no interest in publicizing their ownership, and that's just fine too. Speaking of cars hidden away in SA, you may recall Vale graciously went all the way there to test drive a 2,800-mile well-preserved beauty for us. Image Unavailable, Please Login
