what would be a good guess on this car value by December 2018 with 8,500 miles
For a good spec, low mile, clean 458 I bet retail will be in the 220 to 230k range. I doubt they go down too far as there is nothing in that price range that compares. I believe by the then 488 spiders will be about 100k more and over time the gap shrinking.
It's so hard to tell because the values of these cars also depends on so many other factors. Other cars that are introduced into the car market. It also depends on how other second hand cars are doing in the market. Supply and demand. The economy. Also trends in the car world can dictate the market. The media has a lot to do with what is desirable as well. It's to hard to predict what will happen in the car market. In the last 6 years the car market has fluctuated a lot! Take the scuderia for example up and down then up and back down again like the stock market. Who knows! Nobody!
$168,895 if as a trade in, $195,522 if on the open market selling it yourself. Adjust accordingly for inflation and all values are in USD.
I dont see them getting this low 1 year from now. The 458 spider is still highly regarded, the looks are timeless and the performance is more than most will ever be able to use.
I agree plus it's naturally aspirated 9k rpm and pininfarina design. I highly doubt it will drop that much for this to happen the whole 430 line 360 line and 355 all have to drop as well. I don't see it.
Keep in mind Fcar values take a massive nosedive just before the 10K mile mark, which at 8500 you're getting close.
I haven't seen any massive nosedives in Ferrari pricing nearing 10K miles and I have been looking or buying for 10 years. There will be price adjustments for mileage but I have never seen what would be referred to as massive nosedive under 10k. If there was I would have a few more cars.
Maybe but they seem to be doing very these days. Time will tell. I've been looking, going back and forth between 488s and 458s. Not in a rush as winter is coming soon but if the right spec shows up I will pull the trigger.
