Anyone have any experience with this or any thoughts on it for use in a 612? There was some discussion from guys who have installed it in there 430's. Also reported to give smoother shifting.

"This Plug&Play pure electronic solid state Smart eMT F1 Relay ECU is a direct replacement of the OEM robotized gearbox hydraulic pump relay like for the F1/E-Diff of Ferrari. With our embedded software, this ECU will greatly improve the reliability of your car and will help to prevent very expensive hydraulic system failures."

Should work fine as a reliability upgrade, but any reports of improved shifting are slightly (highly, actually) exaggerated.

I don't think relay failure is a big thing, I have never heard of it, but dir hear of F1 systems needing to be replaced
I bought one, and will try it on the 612 as soon as I receive it
The stuff is not only an expensive relay, it helps you protecting the downstream equipment by shutting down the system if anything runs abnormally, it also gives you the diagnosis of what might be failing

In 599 You need to take out battery cover. It’s inside there.
I’ve also mounted the F1 relay mase by Scud Ing Swiss, removing the old 50a relay. One month later everything is Ok.

I have same problem with new relay. Somethimes when I just open the trunk, then drivers doors, F1 pump won’t start so I can’t start the car. If it happened, I need to disconnect battery (master switch open). I need to contact with scud ing swiss what they think about it.

Of course not. But I don’t need to worry about pump working time.

Hi "Mor",when I installed my relay the 85/86 switch was in the wrong position. No pump, no shift,no trunk. After I switched it all is well.Perhaps yours is not pushed all the way to the proper position.I" think" it needs to be on 85.Good luck,Mike

No, it’s not the problem. 85/86 switch is Ok. It happens only somethimes. I’ve contacted with scud ing swiss and they will send me a new unit. They also ask me, Could I send them back the fault ecu to check what the problem is. So I’m waiting for the shipement and will put new one relay in my 599.

I have installed and run the smart F1 relay
It is a good product and does the job, my gearbox was not sick, so nothing to diagnose
Big advantage of this system to me is the suppression of the power surge when the pump goes on
This translates into less flickering of the instrument panel (I see less because it still happens when cooling fans go on) and the fact that the battery tender does not put itself in default anymore when you open the door, this is also due to the suppression of the power surge created by the electromechanical relay
One can only imagine that these surge are destructive for the car electronics.
Shift quality, I cannot tell the difference, my 612 has very little mileage (12K) my original relay was like new when I opened it. I guess the guy that has an old relay will probably note something, but this is not the main point of this device, as a new relay will just be cheaper
This relay is a peace of mind regarding your F1 system, this is why I bought it in first place
Some pictures of my 612 installation, you need to take the battery out if you want to do a clean job

Yep, mine works fine too !
Hadn't had problems with the old one either, but when we replaced it ,we found evidence
of burning on it around contacts
