It appears prices on scuds are coming down slightly, also with winter right around the corner I have to imagine they will decline slightly more, maybe 1-2%. However long term I could totally see these cars going back up in price. pending no crazy economic issues.

However what is also interesting to me is when you look at all the available scuds I believe ~75% have been on the market for over 6 months, some of which have only made there way through varying dealers and never to a real person. Many of which are not up to date on service, or simply lack service records, and some are in sub par condition for their asking prices and even hiding a poor history.

The current asking market still seems out of line with the demand/bidding at the moment. I still recall when you could have almost any scud for <200k.

Lastly if you are actively looking for a scuderia let me know; maybe we can help each other out and share notes.
I have researched many that are currently on the market, and have even had a few PPIs done.

Indeed, real prices are probably around $200K currently. That's still higher than 3 years ago but far from the peak seen between one and two years ago when they approached $250K.
No doubt that in the long term prices will go up again, but in the short term I have no clue whether the correction will go on for a while or not. Sellers having missed the peak were initially reluctant to sell, but looking at the downward trend they may now look for damage limitation - and actually support the trend by increasing the offer... On the other hand buyers may consider current prices as bargain compared to the peak, but looking at the trend they may elect to wait for a while.

Those who are on a market to buy a scuderia, they are low balling... Any way you slice it, scuderias are +$200k cars. They will only appreciate over time.

Give it time you,ll see the scud go up in prices, when the newer models coming up and want $450k for mass production and up $250k doesn,t sound too bad for a Scud.

Almost 7 years have passed since I got my '09 and seems like I didn't lose any money on it, yet I get to still enjoy all the free fun + thrills.

    No complaints here!

Even if the value of my scud does go down, it’s still saving me money since I have no desire to upgrade

Question. Looking at the interior of the auction Scud (lovely car btw) I see the 'Launch' button is missing? Is this a US thing and if so why?

I am not 100% certain, but my understanding is it is specific to US, and something to do with insurance/liability and imports during that time period. I have seen some added back, not sure who or how but I have seen them... However all the single clutch cars LC just destroys the clutch, so not the best idea...

One can note that 458's have appreciated by 30k or so in the last 12-18 months, guess its a better engine, if you dont mind the ugly as hell design and the autobox

I feel exactly the same way. I used to keep my cars no more than 1-2 years until I purchased my scud. It's a bitter sweet situation. I would like to own something else but I can't justify seperating from my scud. I wish I had more room in my garage.

They "just keep going up"? How do you account for the drop over the past 16 months or so? And where do you get the 1600 manufactured? No one truly knows, ranges have been given from 1600 to over 2200. Someone has some rose colored glasses on... ;)

From my knowledge there were more 430 Scud's imported to the USA compared to the 360CS's and 458 Speciale's. The jump in performance and updated gearbox between the 430 Scud and 458 Speciale is huge. I love the 430 Scud and would like to own one some day but it will always be the middle child of the limited series N/A V8 light weight Ferrari's.
