    Hi

Looking for a bit of advice..

I'm flying out to Maranello next Wednesday to pick up my new car, and it is booked in on my return at chipguard for a full PPF the day after I get back.

I'm looking to get the car ceramic coated on top of the PPF as well, and was wondering if anyone could recommend a reliable person to do this ideally in the south west. I'm located in Exeter but happy to travel for a good service.

    Regards

    Michael

Yep it's been a long wait but think it's going to be worth it!

Organising the factory collection has been tricky but got there in the end as that will make it even more special!

I remember reading about your collection of your Maserati about a year ago..

    Regards

When I got PPF on my factory new 488 Spider (done by a third party at the dealership, without moving the car), it was first properly detailed, polished etc.
Obviously, the paint isn't as perfect as one would believe when a car rolls off the production line.

I also asked about some nano or ceramic coating on top of the film, but the company advised against it, they have better experience with carnauba coating and polish.

I'm not an expert, but maybe it depends on the type of film used.

Keep us posted what your film supplier/installer thinks, always good to learn more!

    Thx

    Hi Michael

I hope you have a great trip back from Maranello, I am sure the factory collection will be fantastic.

I was going to get PPF full cover in Xpel on my 488 at Chipguard, but I still haven't arranged it. I will be very interested to hear how you get on.

As for ceramic coating on top, I haven't heard of this before, so again will look forward to learning what recommendations you get.

    Bon voyage!

    Regards.

    Robert

    Hi Robert

I have heard they are pretty good and talking to them I have confidence they will do a good job.

You are more than welcome to come and take a look at mine when it's being done or when it's finished?

I'm down in the southwest but could meet you down at chipguard when mine is being done if that helps...

    Regards

    Michael

    Thanks Michael.

Meeting up at Chipguard sounds a good idea - when will you be there?

    Regards.

Probably too late, but I ‘ve had good experience with GVE in Uxbridge re PPF on my F430 spider’s front. They also recco’d ceramic for the remainder of the body but Imhaven’t progressed that yet.

    Hi Bob

I'm already booked in with chipguard for the PPF- will let you know how that goes.

Like you I just need to find someone to do the ceramic coating - may speak to GVE about it if I can't find someone locally.

    Regards

    Michael
