Thank you. I'm so glad you liked it. Sounds like we definitely have some common ground. It's funny, but as I went through old photos at my parents' house the other day, I stumbled upon this photo of the car that started it all for me. There was a local doctor that had a 328 GTS. I was so taken with this car that I used to have my mom drive past his office a few times a week. I vowed that someday I would have one. It's been almost 14 years since I bought my first 328, and I still have to pinch myself to make sure that it really happened. :)

Reminds me of that scene out of The Pursuit of Happiness where the stockbroker owner of a 308 GTS parks his car out the front of his building, feeds the meter and goes off to work. Seems like a long distant memory that cars like ours could ever be driven as just normal day to day transport.

It is a shame. I would love to see these cars on the road more often. That being said, there was a two week stretch where I drove this car every day, rain or shine, and I was pleasantly surprised with how well it handled the grind. The key is finding good parking!

This looks an awful lot like your old #68235 which I now have (just hit my 4 year anniversary). She's still going strong and looks as great as ever!

Hi Craig! Yes, the main reason I originally chose #68235 was because of the car pictured below. Glad to hear that you and the car are well. Would love to see pics of her. :)

This is one of the greatest stories I've ever read on here.I to am a former owner of a black on tan 89 328 GTS.I didn't realize how much I've missed that car until I read this story. Its been gone for 11 years but not forgotten.I may be on the hunt again!

I appreciate the kind words, Shea. I've had so much fun during this 328 odyssey and I hope it never ends. And as far as I know, we only live once, so go and get another 328 already! ;)

Okay, you guys are going to think I'm crazy. A few months ago I started to get an itch for an air-cooled Porsche 911. I've had several in the past and I thought I wanted something more usable than the Ferrari on a weekly basis. I ended up trading my Azzurro 328 on a 1988 911 Carrera 3.2 Coupe. The 911 is a fantastic car and I really enjoyed driving it.

Here's the crazier part. After a few weeks of Porsche ownership I started to regret my decision to get rid of the 328. The 911 is great but it's just not same. My ideal garage would have one of each car, but if I can only have one, it's got to be a 328. Well, long story longer, I started pressing the dealer to sell my car back to me and I am now happy to report that I am purchasing #81641 for the third time. It will most likely be the last time because my wife will probably divorce me if I sell it again. I can't wait to get back behind the wheel again next week to start this odyssey all over again. :)

Good decision. A 3.2L Carrera does not hold a candle to the 328 in any measures.

When you get tired on that one, you can have your old black one back ... with fresh paint and major.

It says something about the 328 ... in many ways the consummate Ferrari ... cannot fault the styling, the mechanicals are bullet-proof, the performance and handling are sufficient, and the rest of the car is "sorted" requiring manageable low-tech maintenance. In many ways it's the final evolution of the 246, but affordable to acquire.
