^I don't really like Stephen A, but barring a miracle, playoffs seem a tall order this year. You just don't lose the best LT in football, one of the best RBs, and the heart of your D, and waltz into the playoffs...T

And then there is the best kicker in the NFL and Hitchens, our second best linebacker. We are toast. Play the rookies in the secondary and treat the rest of the year as a long pre season to get them reps. Once Zeke got bounced, so did our season. Oh yeah and Mr. Goodell?? **** YOU!

Nugent has been decent, but he's no Dan Bailey to be sure. I agree, the young secondary looks promising, they need to play as much as possible. Couldn't hurt much at this point...T

Gotta blame leadership for that one. Funny thing is no one mentions that the Eagles had starters in the same exact positions that are currently out on injury. Peters, Mills, Sproles, heck they played with a linebacker place kicker for most of the game. They seem to keep it together just fine. But for Dallas, it's a convenient excuse.

I thought Dak was supposed to be the second coming? Guess he's not able to bring the best out of everyone. :D

    AFC WEST

DEN fires its offensive coordinator. Promotes qb coach. Paxton Lynch to start at qb?

    OAK fires its defensive coordinator.

These teams play this week. Neither has much of a chance to make it to the playoffs.

^ At the start of the season, we were speculating that the AFC West was the strongest division in football. As it stands right now, Chargers may be the best team in the division?

You’re not seriously comparing the loss of Sproles to Zeke are you? Or Sean Lee to Jordan Mills? Or most laughingly Jason Peters to TYRON SMITH???

Excuse? Definitely. Convenient? Probably. ;) I echo a lot of what Mark said (no surprise there being a Cowboys fan) - the people Eagles lost are not of the caliber of those lost by the Cowboys. However, since I'm grumping on the Cowboys, I will agree with you on one point - blame leadership! The Cowboys have been thin on both sides of the ball - O & D - after their front line players for a while (parenthetically, their core special teams players - kicker, punter, long snapper - are the best trio in football, again IMO). Whether it's bad luck, not coaching up 3rd day draftees, UFAs, salary cap limitations, etc., I'm not sure what the problem is, but perhaps the bigger problem is not with the front office but with the coaching staff? One thing I have not seen on the Cowboys in a while is that "next man up" mentality that many teams have. When a starter goes down on the Cowboys, frequently there seems to be a major drop in quality (Dak stepping in for Romo last season being a major exception), and they seems to pack it in. That I can blame on the coaching staff. But, it's all good, next year we'll have an easier schedule for our Super Bowl run. :)

I try to avoid Eagles Cowboys discussions. I hate to see any player go down, esp. key guys. When it happens, you gotta look at the guys who DID play. Big D did not score a TD with Whitten, probably best TE in football last dozen years (and Eagle-killer), that slow wide receiver who's always complaining he doesn't get the ball enough, and that little white guy reciever who was invisible for the game. Points of correction, Eagles lost Jordan HICKS LB and their defensive Captain for the year. Their first string kicker went down in the first game this year. The PK who got dinged Sunday night was signed after being cut by the BENGALS!

Keith you ought to enjoy the Cowboy game today. We got nothin without Zeke and Lee. I mean nothin.

But it does get us one step closer to Jerry firing Red Jesus.
