Yes, i forget this important detail! Perhaps because the last time i saw 80022 hat Eberlein in Kassel, the interior had red seat covering. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The tan leather was a post-production privateer application for this car, it was supplied new with red Nomex.
I love this project! Verde Abetone beside Blu Pozzi (Bernd Hahne) is my dream colour on this dreamcar... But i would take red also...
Repaint removes composit/kevlar weave in the paint. Only by rebodying with all new original parts can bring it back.
I recognize the need for repainting a car and I’m a big admirer of superb restorations. I’m just a purist. The car came a certain way from the factory (and a certain color) and it should be restored/repainted/kept that way.
Back then everyone believed Ferraris had to be red. Today, that belief has evolved as we have, and we have the right to correct some mistakes from the past. That said, the F40 is the only one *I don't mind* being red. Though I must say again it looks awesome in green!
Not quite true, firstly it is fibreglass weave on the outer skin not carbon kevlar, and secondly Kevin of Mototechnique has shown on a previous post how they can add a new outer skin of glass to replicate the original factory flaws! before repainting, and afterwards no one would be any the wiser
