Hey, I haven't logged on F Chat for a long time, so I apologize if this is old news. So the story line: young 17 year old HS students are self-made Entrepreneurs and buy a fleet of exotic cars. There is a video on their Youtube where they have a Capristo Exhaust installed. Entertainment value: not bad. Real: I doubt it, and they have many critics calling them out. What is your opinion ? They go buy "JR Garage"
Sorry I could care less about what anybody does or thinks especially if it's connected Juvenile behavior. Nor will I click on any link to support said adventures Have a great Thanksgiving
It's all about the views. They could not care less about the car. Just some spectacular over the top comments, videos and lots of views. These kids have made a lot of money on You Tube doing this. Their details and experiences are irrelevant and wrong. They do not care.
These kids are full of poopoo ...little value to their content...spin off of demuro, trip to carmax etc... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gee, I Only had a 1971 Mercury Cyclone with a 429 4 speed High School. Unfortunately, No video recorder………..
Saw a few of their videos. From what I heard is they rent them out. They started off with one car and kept growing. I would imagine their parents must have helped them out if they arnt still involved in the venture.
They have their 355 for sale so not sure about renting...lease maybe? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
IDK, I looked into doing the exotic rental business when I was an established adult and the insurance for a business like that was insane. The only way you could make it work was by the economy of scale. Either go big or go home. You need to be able to afford to buy a number of cars and rent them steady just to cover insurance.
to the OP.. correct this is old news.. as mentioned above they have their 355 for sale now.. and already bought a 430.. I have unfortunately followed their content.. suckered in by the 355.. and its funny how he always says the 355 is broken, or afraid to drive it in case in breaks.
I respect them having taste in cars, and having bought a 355 over something that does not cost as much to maintain!
I don't understand the negativity. Petty jealousy that high school kids made money to do this or they thought of a great viral marketing scheme? You don't have to like it, but many do. IMHO no worse than thinking of something like "gold" kits priced into the stratosphere and falling for that. Sure there is a little angle to it, but so are most things.
I give them props for getting out there and doing something. We shouldn't complain about 'lazy millenials' and then talk crap about their businesses, even if their social media marketing can be obnoxious. Now, if you were just saying their videos are bothersome or misleading, ok, fair enough! My own opinion is that an F1 355 is a particularly bad Ferrari to start with unless you have savings beyond the price of the car to pay for repairs. Early F1 was cutting edge technology 22 years ago but was not widely enough in use between brands for parts prices to come down, and mechanics who can work on them at an expert level are few and far between.
+1 I was researching it pretty intently about a decade ago. It was very capital intensive. I've looked more recently into the Turo app and buying some cars just to put on there (ie 911, Corvette, etc), but I'm skeptical that it can generate enough to cover the costs.
Respectfully, is this an opinion based on factual ownership of your own? As a 5-year owner of a 98 F1 GTS I can factually state this is not even remotely my experience.
No, just second hand anecdotes which are legion about the F1 pump, actuator, etc. Needing to upgrade to the 360 version, etc. I have several friends on the service side who are opinionated because they deal with them all day. Don't you do some of your own repairs though? That's a good sign that it hasn't been bad.
Thanks for the honest post, Ryan. I've very sensitive to the whole F1 rumors as I truly believe most are just that or cars that have been improperly serviced by folks that don't know the system or don't have the proper tools. Yes, I do all of my own work. Mostly by choice but also because I have no options where I live. I've not had a single issue with my F1 system unless one would consider the LED segments of the gear indicator part of the system (which, technically it is). In fact, my car has have very little needs and runs like a Swiss watch
