    Can anyone offer advice on the correct battery to fit to a 1961 3500GT? I've recently fitted a new 60aH battery and the cranking speed is very low - so I'm guessing more power is needed. Any advice on what the amp hour rating needs to be would be very helpful. Image Unavailable, Please Login

    Even a small battery should be OK when new. I would check the ground and the connection of the long cable to the starter. I fit the largest battery that will fit the compartment because it looks better.

    I checked the ground lead and found it was close to breaking - in fact it completely separated from the ground post. Put a new cable on and it's now starting fine. Many thanks Eugene!
