Question...The pic of the odometer shows "A" above the miles; does this mean this is trip odometer reading and not overall miles? Such a shame if truly less than 800 miles of enjoyment.

This looks like our fellow F-Chatter Fiorano57's ex car. This was one of my favorite 599's. I wonder what happened.

A indicates it is Trip A mode.

Thanks. I've noticed that listing trip miles as the odometer is a common mistake by IAAI and Copart.

HOW SAD....:( That IS my old 599!!! I traded it for a black 09 scud which I then traded for my 08 Scud I own now....It was traded to a Texas independent dealer who then sold it to a Reno MB dealer...From what I know they sold it to an older man in Nevada. What the hell happened to it??? With the crazy weather maybe it was a flash flood???
Iam so sad and should have never sold it although I do love my scud. I had the HGTE kit put on it plus about 10K in MAcarbon parts. When I sold it it had 2.5K miles on it..:(

Well,Thanks to my wife, I found out what happened:(......What a moron it says in the one article how that intersection is prone to flooding...I wonder how it still runs if the engine ingested water? What do you think it will sell for and can it be saved? I know its not mine anymore but Iam devastated. :( Would love to buy it back but I know its beyond what I could afford....Make sure my vin is posted so people will know in the future about this car.

Wow, if that is an elderly gentleman they are helping from the car, I really feel badly for him. Very sad all the way around.

I've been seeing quite a few flood damage exotics showing up in auctions and secondary dealers. Pricing is typically about US$50-75k below what a healthy car would be offered.

The engine could be refurbished for well under that. Assuming no electrical or interior/upholstery problems, the car could be made to shine again, and possibly at a reasonable savings.

Now, it doesn't make sense if you have an eye to later trade or sell it because the salvage title will just kill value, but if the car is a keeper then it could completely make sense to restore.

Kevin- I would not do that. She is on a salvage title now, and you will never get back your investment.

She drowned, and she will never be the same. Ferraris and deep water do not mix well.
