Just enjoying the read of “Ferrari 250 GTO Super Profile”, a 56 pages 1982 booklet, including the test drive of a very young FerrariChat fellow...

Just went through “Ferrari Berlinetta - Objects of Art” Classic Line Band 1. In the book there is - more than once - reference to a Volume 2 in the making, dealing with rear engined prototypes. As far as I can see there has never been a “Band 2”, does anybody know more or what’s the story behind? Thanks!

    3 down - order complete

DHL delivered the Phil Hill Racing Autobiography late this afternoon. It has "Carton 53" on the outside. Fuller Brush Catalogue photos start on page 214. They do not include the one of Phil in the factory, standing in front of a white TdF. So technically the question that I have had since August 2004 is still unanswered (see my post from July 13, 2012, now on page 48 of this forum.)

But the five photos that are included (of the 16 in the catalog), are positioned after Phil's account of his Le Mans win in June,1958, and the French GP in July. Since 0969GT was completed on June 28 and delivered on July 4, and 1037GT (the other white TdF) was delivered in November, I think I have my answer and it is the one I was hoping for.

How much are the two editions? I can't see the price mentioned in the link. I'd like a copy of the book but I don't want to pay for the silly case.

Thank you. I'm sure it's lovely but when I buy a book I buy it to read and look at and if I want an art installation then I would buy that separately.

Yes, I think so, although it does pretty much say that in the text.

Publisher Taschen is very good at marketing. Some of their socalled limited editions are quite nice. But most times limited for them is just what they think they can sell. Like this Ferrari book or not, the prices are ridiculous. It's like these Opus books. For the price of one copy you could invest in a high quality library. It's vanity, nothing to do with a labour of love publication like for instance the worderful Phil Hill 'Inside Track'.

Totally, these oversized books are over the top. And they're so big as to be pretty much unusable. Just a large static display that sits there.

    Not interested in the least.

Respect, you are a more patient person than I am. I cancelled my Connoisseur's Edition order and had them send out a copy of the regular Collector's Edition. Leather bindings and such are all fine and good, but sitting around with nothing while others had their copies was not acceptable in my mind.
