This car is apparently for sale by Simon Kidston and is somewhat detailed on the dangerous site, Bringatrailer.com (dangerous to me, anyhow). They say the doors, trunk lid and hood are aluminum. The hood on my Daytona, #14599 is aluminum, but I didn't know that other body parts might also be aluminum. Was this special order or exactly how did some cars come to have certain alloy parts, but not others? Was this car hit, and then repaired in "aluminium"?? thanx steve

thanx so much. that makes sense...my American car does have steel doors. As a plexinose, it would have been an early car, and thus more likely to have "aluminium" components. steve

Seems very overpriced to me in the current market especially for a car that is only described as good in the advert.

Supposedly all "early" production examples had alloy skinned doors along with alloy skinned hood and deck lids with only latter two remaining throughout the entire production run. Doors apparently also saw some structural "updates" during production run.
