Hi everyone, I’m new to this particular 3.0 Turbo forum and have some questions: - Fuchs must be 15’s x 7’s and 15’s x 8’s - side mirrors? Where they different from later 930 models? When did the change happen? - best place to buy the correct spoiler? Thank you all for your help! Rod Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Any thoughts on the ex-Peter Gregg 930 up for auction on BaT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-porsche-930-turbo-3/
For anyone looking for an original Bamberg, this is missing the mic but good price. no affiliation, even though I found mine years ago, my ebay search is still running! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1976-Blaupunkt-Bamberg-Electronic-Porsche-911-930-Professionally-Serviced/282755302728?hash=item41d5878548:g:qHcAAOSwXfBZiOOa&vxp=mtr
Gregg's 1978 930 had the same interior but stayed more original than his 1976 Turbo Carrera. No doubt the only two pair of Dr. Fuhmann seats even ordered in Rostbraun Nappa leather. 1976 930 coming up at RM in Scottsdale https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/AZ18/Arizona/lots/r150-1976-porsche-911-turbo-carrera/563551
Detailed restoration photos of this Belgium ’75 Turbo. Interesting how the rear shelf has two production numbers present with one crossed out…perhaps an example of Porsche using what was on hand to get the job done. http://911motorsport.be/restoration-of-a-1975-porsche-930-turbo/ Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
True - but you have to give them an A for effort. There are many low-mileage 930’s out there with dubious low-mileage that could be debunked with a quick look at the VDO date stamp. In the case of this 1976 Turbo Carrera, it would be interesting to see the speedo date and how it aligns with the Feb 1977 replacement date tag. The auction description is incorrect as they infer the speedo was replaced due to a stock 150 mph being replaced with a more desirable 180 mph unit (1976 Turbo Carreras already had 180 mph speedos so must have been a mechanical problem).
Finally we have started the painting process! The 930 number 148 from 1975 is coming along: engine almost complete and the chassis is starting to look like it should. After 12 months of work the Sonder-Farbe Tonbac Metallic W2 is getting back to its former glory ... and it is shouting 1970s without any regret! Image Unavailable, Please Login I am aware that the frunk paint is not correct as it should be "faded" in some way, but we will still work on that. Do we know how many Sonder-Farbe 930 were built in MY 1975? Image Unavailable, Please Login
My understanding is Ryan has sleuthed out how many cars of each year were painted the various colors, this book will be a very valuable resource of 930 collectors. Phil
Hi Guys, I'm the new owner of chassis 9305700020, was a German press car with registration plate S-CH8158. If some one has some informations regarding my car it would be very appreciate !
Congrats - this may help - https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/search/419306/?q=s+ch+8158&t=post&o=relevance&c[thread]=344030
Many thanks Idart, I can see you are a true enthousiast ! My car has been repaint metallic blue in 1985 and the interior has been changed by a black leather one but if you scratch the paint it's gold all around. Hopefully car never crashed and retains the original engine. For the story, this car was in France still 1985 and nobody knew it was S-CH8158
Fantastic - will be great to see photos of the car today. Glad this car is a survivor and it should have some very interesting features with such an early chassis number.
Nice repaint color but a change back to the original color would be very cool. Image Unavailable, Please Login
