I live in Europe and am currently looking at buying a Ferrari 360. I came across a 2003 F1 model that has an ALBREX charger system installed. I was hoping someone on this forum might have some information on ALBREX since my search on the internet has provided nothing but a couple of pictures.

Here is a pic of the actual car engine bay showing the system.

Never seen that before. Website only shows text, not even any photos or numbers or anything.

Personally, i'd stay far away from that, seems like a huge headache.

Yes, without clear information on what was done to the engine and specs on that unit, I would not want to take a chance on that. I am moving on to a little older but stock 360 that has a recent belt and clutch service. The car with the Albrex was very touchy with the throttle. Just giving it a little gas caused the tires to spin. I am not sure what HP it has but I am sure it is pushing 500+.

Update on this. I talked to the guy that did the tuning on this car (Conrad Gruber) and it is basically a twin turbo setup with an intercooler. The system brings the hp to around 610. Definitely a different kind of 360. He said that he angled the glass on the rear bonnet and added the roof scoop to force air through the intercooler.

Then that would change the entire driving dynamics of the car. Ferrari spent a great deal with this car to control how it handled right down to the downforce it produced to maximize safety during high speed runs. With 200+ more hp and a different acting aero I wouldn't want to drive this beyond 100 mph.

    Just saying!

They are asking the equivalent of 54k US dollars. I am actually leaning towards a stock 360 even though the condition and added HP of this car make it enticing. It is in great cosmetic condition, 2003 360 F1 car with 23000 miles.

The other 360 is a 2000 F1 with 21,000 miles, has recent clutch, belts, Oil service. Asking price is 42k US dollars. I am leaning towards the 2000 although the performance and overall condition of the 2003 are better. There just seems to be a lot of risk in a highly modified Ferrari 360.
