I am not comparing to to the 430, more my past and present cars like the 350Z, BMW Z4, Honda integra type R etc, i have got some video of the dyno runs today i will try and post them up.

No ecu reset with mine as it on M2.5 different to your M2.7, with the M2.5 there is no diagnostic for it, you could pull wire off the sensors and you would not know it.

Yes hope to see you there on the 18th

    Very NICE!

283hp @ 7500rpm & 220tq @ 6100rpm to the wheels. Was that SAE or DIN numbers? And, what kind of dyno?

    Whatever the case, great numbers!

Yes was the only other "real" Ferrari there ! The motherfaker Ferrari club was there in force !!! They had some horrendous cars.

It was a fibreglass GTB lhd car, still learning about them, need to swat up on them.

The fiberglass cars were the first GTBs, and first glassfiber cars that Ferrari made but the 'experiment' didn't really work. They were more expensive to make, slower to produce and the claimed weight saving just wasn't there. People have weighed them since and there's very little difference between a glass car and an early steel one.

As a result Ferrari quickly stopped making them so that's why they are pretty rare and as a result command quite a premium - maybe £20k in the UK. Pretty mad that that should be the case if you think about it.

Wow Paul, I met you at Sharnbrook and had a look at your car. (I was in my pickup truck, arrived and left early) You told me it'd taken 7yrs and to be honest it didnt sink in just what an awesome and all over job you'd done. Massively impressed having read through the thread.

For the folk looking at photos - see it in the flesh!

    Awesome work Paul.

Hi there, you were the one who has brought a 348 that has been sitting for a while ? ( sorry forgot your name)

Yes 7 years, but most of that time it spent in 2 body shops, i have decided to put it away until next year, got a few snagging jobs to do on her over the winter.

How are you getting on with yours ?

(Matt) Correct and thats alright I had to ask yours too. "The bloke with the brummy accent who took 7years"

Alright actually. Slow and steady. Electrical faults all cleared off, interior de-sticky-ed, seats and other leather cleaned and re-dyed. Engine cleaned of "goo" (long story) across everything an arm and a toothbrush will reach (holding off doing wheels and arches off to reach the rest for now). Engine out service booked. Next up is "external beautification" and maybe stealing your ideas with the black crackle plenums.. ;)

Congrats again on the lovely car, its a peach.

Hope this helps. Last week I managed to fix E6 by removing the climate control unit to simply clean & re-seat the connector. Place a few blobs of silicone on the sides of the connector once seated to keep it on there. No more ac issues or e6.

    Hello Paul.
Very Very nice project I have looked all the pages and pics with lot of interest.
Im making a similar project on my 348 TB 1990.
Everyday I have a new question to solve ! today You can help me Im sure...
Im putting the wires on the engine because everything have been unplugged from engine.
And now I have 2 wire and I dont know who they are..
I have the workshop but ECU wiring page is missing.
can you tell me what they are used for ?
it is not: flywhell sensor, and sensors under inlet manifolds.
this 2 plugs comes with long wires both and they are on the driver side (french car)
    kind regards

Thanks for resurrecting this thread, I hadn't seen it before. Amazing work! I might also add, the OP's manual transmission 430 has probably doubled in value since 2012.

Paul, Great thread! Just curious as to your thoughts on Alsa. I want to get the few bits resprayed on my 348, mainly door slats as I'm not happy with the finish.
    Appreciated Adrian

Sorry for the late reply, i don't check in on here that much.

I am extremely happy with work that Alsa did on my 348 and my Escort RS Cosworth, in fact I am hoping to book my 66 mustang with him for next year.

Here are some recent photos, these were taken by the guy who detailed it, he said it was one of the best paint jobs he has seen.
