    As I do not have access to an SV, and all my research in books and through photos has not turned up the answer, I'm turning to you guys to help me answer the following question:

    Is the very rear bodywork (the flat, rearward-facing sheetmetal that houses the taillights, badges, etc.), including the rear "bumper" and hexagonal grille, wider on the SV than the P400 and S? If anyone has dimensions or knows definitively, I would love to hear from you.

    I'll briefly share where I am at currently with my thinking. The total number of hexagonal columns and rows is identical on all 3 (P400, S, SV). Overlaying photos of SV's onto earlier cars indicates that the rear section and parts are dimensionally the same. The rear outer/upper fender crease on the earlier car parallels the length of the car (more or less), while the SV's angles outwards noticeably, leading me to believe the crease on all Miura's starts at the same point on the rear bodywork but deviates in direction/angle to cover the increased width of the SV. If the SV rear bodywork was wider, that crease line should be parallel but simply located further outwards. I currently believe that the rear bodywork, bumper and hexagonal grille are dimensionally the same across models. Regardless, I can speculate all day, but a few minutes with a tape measure or someone experienced chiming in would be worth infinitely more.

    Chris, I will ask Max to let me know what it sells for as that's the best data point for us - I think you'll be impressed with the number.

    Meanwhile we do love to see a nice early P400, and we are seeing more of them being restored nicely, guess what that means?

    I can't wait to see yours completed and in a photoshoot by Webb Bland head-to-head with your Stratos and in fact I can tell you that we'd like to borrow them for a small story for Octane magazine. Title that one "The Gandini Masterpieces".
