I need to glue a clear front indicator lense

I'm a bit worried about getting the two broken out pieces aligned with the remainder if I use MEK as well as potentially scaring the lens further.

I've managed to secure and align the pieces with scotch tape from the front. The wicking instant glue from the rear is the plan.

So now I've got the Loctite 406 now and will see if it messes the plastic up too much to use it in a wicking fashion. But the idea is to set the pieces with this and then backstop the repair with the Lexel which I got today from Lowes.

$5.98 for what I thought was a single tube. I had them ship it to the store for my pickup since UPS has been so terribly screwed up here since 11/1/2017. When I went in today they insisted that I take the entire 12 pack. I tried to explain that couldn't possibly be correct but no. So that's about 50 cents a tube ... I'm set for life now!

I don't usually offer investment advice but short Lowes folks. SCREWY!

 

So I used the Loctite 406 wicking grade with the Scotch tape and it went pretty well.
The tape was on the front side sealing and holding the two broken off corner pieces in place and the glue was wicked into the cracks from the back side.
There are other impact cracks in this lens in several places so this is a lens with some patina.
More of the glue leaked through the cracks than I expected so once it was set I carefully peeled off the tape and wiped off the excess.

After waiting a couple of days I used 400, 600 and 1000 grade paper to remove any excess glue, reshape any alignment issues and then I hand buffed it very carefully with plastic buffing compound. I have as yet to try backstopping the repaired area with Lexel.
So here are some photos of the result. It has more "patina" than before the corner broke off but for a non concours bound car I don't think it's that bad as it's the bottom and very low to the ground.

It seems pretty strong and most of that corner's loss of clarity is due to the glues effect on the plastic on the inside. The outside is really very good. The brown in the bolt hole is due to rusting of the bolt.
