So does this mean sky sports may not be as good as it has in the past?

It's probably waaay too early to make any conclusions; this is a proposed deal, subject to gov't scrutiny. F1 coverage is small potatoes in a deal this big.

The way it's going lately, ESPN might not even be around by season start... or at least not in the same iteration they're in now. Either way, handing things to ESPN is just another step in the wrong direction.

Hobbs was always good fun and I loved him coining "clag." But the rest of those broadcasts were absolutely awful. I always attributed it to the commentary but i wonder if it was the commercial breaks as mentioned earlier. VPN with a Sky account seems like it's always been the way to go, that's what my British freinds do in the States anyway. Will be very interesting to see what happens next year.

And I guess maybe it hasn't been decided yet, but LM sure doesn't seem to have plans for any kind of pre- and post- race shows. That's not gonna help build the fanbase imho. From what I can tell, there won't be any on ESPN, so I was hoping they'd be available via their stream. It's looking more and more like I'll just keep finding the Sky broadcast over the web whenever I can. Awesome.

Tell me more about VPN. Is it easy? Legal? How much will it cost me? How much is the Sky subscription?

    Thanks in advance!

So when do they start covering what is going on? I still preferred the old SpeedVision coverage because their on-line website had the best auto racing news articles around.
