There are and will be several Maseratis offered at the Scottsdale auctions. I see a couple Vignale spiders. One at Barrett-Jackson and one at Bonhams or another one. The one at Barrett is vin Number 1145. https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1963-MASERATI-3500-GT-VIGNALE-SPYDER-212968 They do not mention a matching engine number?? Does anyone know this car and any history on it? There is also a green one. Does anyone have any background on this car? Ciao, FGM
I also see that RM Sotheby's has the green Vignale Spyder with an estimate of $575,000 to $675,000. Does anyone know this car? FGM
Frank, no, I believe this is a typo. B-J normally don`t care about VINs etc. Its definitely #1405. No, I will not come to AZ this Jan. Since the AZ-Concourse has been cancelled I changed my plan to come to Scottsdale for 3 auction days only... Have fun.
Walter, It's nice to see that you still read postings on the chat site. Despite your misgiving, I for one would like to see you post occasionally as I miss your insights and expertise. I wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy Hew Year. Best, Elliot
I know this car. It was purchased off of a used car lot in southern Ohio many years ago, and resided in a small town east of Columbus Ohio ever since. It was being recommissioned in the same shop and at the same time as my Mistral. The owner wanted one last hurrah after sitting for decades. The car has a lot of charm, which will help, but it was still fairly rough and in need of sorting when I last saw it a couple of years ago. I don't know its current condition.
