That was only added after it came out in the comments, it wasn't originally listed on BaT either.

You guys seem to be completely missing the point of this thread. I don't think anyone has an issue with you doing a manual conversion. In fact I think most of us think its awesome. Trying to hide that it wasn't a 6-speed from the factory is the issue. What the market price is for a conversion will be determined shortly so there is little point in debating it.

And unfortunately, even though it seems like an incredible machine, the sale will be tainted with distrust.

This is exactly what I mentioned earlier in this thread.

The better opportunity or market are gated conversion kits for existing 430 F1 onwers who is tired of F1 issues. Not much on a completed 430 Gated conversion if you want to make a good profit.

I think the best case is you get your money back, no profit.

Hey art I can’t wait to see that 458 MT. Will you be tackling that anytime soon or is it just in the theoretical stage?

Looks like the last bid was $100k which didn't meet the reserve.

Makes me wonder how much this car should sell for the seller to break-even with the conversion cost.

IDK the plan but to me if this was going to be the business model (converting cars to manual) it would be nice to sell for enough to get a better car to convert for the next time. It might take a couple to get to the good money. Along the way they are going to find sources for parts and a better way to tell the story too. Looks like the good low mileage later model 430's are in the ~120K range.

Hey Kev I disagree. 120+35k. Now you are closer to lower end scud or bonafide MT cars (higher mile or minor storied)

I believe the market for these is right where //art is.

Take an f1 in the lower end of the market that isn’t selling, convert it and try to sell it in the mid-upper end of the f1 market. Even if u break even you moved the “harder to move” car.

They will never be collected cars, just won’t. They will be drivers. Choice will be

    - lower mileage un modified f1 car -vs-high mileage converted car.

    - low mileage converted car -vs- high mile scud or bonafide MT

I can't really argue one way or another for this particular car. I wonder about the evaluation for a really nice spec 08 or 09 with all the tasty options and low miles super well documented, new headers, etc, low number of owners type car with the conversion. I think that could test how the market evaluates the conversion. Which I see as a worthy pursuit. If I were involved in developing these or as a buyer I would want a really nice set of conversion pictures printed in a hardbound book with all the VIN info, maybe a plaque installed somewhere in the car. Perhaps a copy of a window sticker with a modified information, heck even one with the new buyers info on it. It's tough to go all out like I am describing though on a rougher car.

    ^^^^ this

They had a $60k car in todays market (based on condition), put $35k into it and had a reserve >$100k. Tried to hit a home run and missed.

Quote of the thread! Such a shame so many owners are afraid to drive their cars. If Enzo wanted them to be show pieces, he wouldn’t have put engines in them.

I bet if BaT had known it was a conversion they wouldn't have let them even list it with a reserve that high.

I can tell you for a fact this is not a 60K car in F1 Form. We see these going wrecked with salvage title between 40 to 60 depending on the damage. Here is a screen shot of Wholesale. But if you are finding these with 40K miles for 60K, please email me so we can do business.

We do have a hand full of serious offers on the table presently. Once a deal is reached, I will let everyone know the selling price with the new owners permission.

    Thank you everyone for looking!

Anyone have a white F430 we can do? LOL

oops, was thinking this was a 360. So not a 60k car, not sure 82 either based on interior, and like I said earlier you'll never recover your labor costs once out the door.

Our man, Doug D even mentioned "Enzo started to hate his own customer base". Don't shoot the messenger here.

Interesting, this wasn't mentioned in BaT initially until it was called-out / inquired in the BaT comments by folks who researched the history through the VIN.

With whats on the table now, we are in a fair range with a decent profit margin. I will disclose with new buyers permission once we have come to an agreement.

Doubt it. Car was for sale for close to 90 when purchased. I saw the ad from PA. Your Ad says you put 17k in it then you said the transmission conversion was 35k. So let’s say on the low side: 80 (prob more paid)+10(you said 17k)+35 (your number not mine)=125++ to break even. If you say you paid less than 80 for the car than you will contradict your statements on the car’s F1 value. So a decent profit is what 10k. So giving the benefit of the doubt here you will have to sell it for 135 k.

Btw in this market, no way no how a 50+k mile 430 is worth 98k!
