This is not 0288 MM.
It is 0290 M, a 166 MM/53 Spider Vignale.

Probably your right/wrong, I don t know? Finally is not so important. It s a old picture. Today, an other time, we react differently.

Picture in the book...Is it a good book? Probably in very limited edition.

Not "coming with my own idea". Rather with clear proof and proper research.
Milan license plate "MI 214166": I have full Italian road registration paperwork for this (it was issued/registered 12 July 1953) and it confirms the chassis number 0290 M.
Oh, besides that, a 166 MM/53 Vignale Spider (2 liters) usually has just two and not three portholes in the front fenders (like a 250 MM with 3-liter engine).

Hahaha, did you really believe Marcel Massini would be wrong on that car?

I once had the opportunity to visit Marcel at his home. There he showed me all the documents he has stored in a large room. You would not believe what documents he has and what he knows about all these cars.


I am not sure but think back then Marcel told me the history about this car and how you travelled to Italy to find out which were the owners of this car.

Many documents are official, from gouvernement or by some any other organisations and I feel surprise by someone how says to have all documents in his possession.

Anyway, I saw in Barchetta cc. and 214166MI is clearly #0288
So who is correct....

You seem to have a really bad day, Sir. Or it's just pure provocation. Why should this document be false? Naturally I have posted here only the upper half of one page of this doc, the entire document is several pages long as is the norm with all these documents. BTW, I have in my archives more than 7'000 such registration documents for early Ferraris in Italy. The lower part of the page and further pages of this document list all details of owners in Italy from the first to the last one, including dates of change of ownership, names, birth dates, father's name, full street address and even the prices paid at the time. Plus names of potential dealers and brokers in between and also if a loan was on the car and if so by whom it was granted and until which date it had to be paid back.
This document is not from Switzerland or from Swiss authorities. It has nothing to do with Switzerland. We talk about an Italian registered car and it comes from the Milan Registration Office.
Maybe your favourite website is wrong or doesn't have the document, or simply doesn't care and not update their site.
