if you can't beat the Raptor, join it? :)

I like it. I suspect red isn't the best color for it.

How (and why) have pick ups gotten so amazingly large? Pretty soon they'll need to wear "Wide Load" signs and watch for low bridges.

What's the deal with all of the new trucks and the huge wheel openings in the fenders? Also the bed is so high it makes it difficult to put things in and remove them.

Not sure what you mean. Those wheel openings look small. You need to allow room for the wheel and tire, right?

Just comparing the 1997 F250 to the 2017 F250 the wheel openings just look abnormally large on the 2017 truck, and while I picked Ford all of the new trucks are like this. I guess it is just a styling thing that I don't like. When ever I look at a new truck I think the manufacturers are being cheap and trying to use less steel in the bodies. I thought Ford trucks have Aluminum not steel bodies now ? Cars and trucks are getting huge these days. When I am in my car you can't see over the wall of trucks and SUV's with mostly 1 person in them and no cargo!!!

This new Chevy looks better than the old one, but that is not saying much.

I'm just thankful they finally went to circular wheel openings and got away from the square wheel arches.

That was the ONE thing they had that differentiated them from all the other trucks on the road. Then everyone complains about lookalike design...........

I thought only the F150 had aluminum and the heavier duty trucks were still steel.

    Yeah no offense but
I completely agree. Didn't GM ALWAYS have have squared wheel arches? It looks like they went circular due to the break up of that flat line along most of the truck (I never liked that belt line on the SUVs, it makes it look old).

I can’t recall exactly when they developed the rectangular wheel openings, but it’s been at least from the ‘50’s if my memory serves me correctly. That was the one thing that was consistent over the years, and they chose to walk away from it.

Just checked, looks like they had round openings @ 1970

No, the F-series is all aluminum now. The body is actually the same between the 150/250. I didn’t think I’d like the aluminum, but so far I’m thrilled with my 17 F250. Just turned 13,000 miles and the aluminum has been more dent resistant than the steel on my previous truck. The 6.7 is simply amazing.

Meh. Another square box, with some Toyota overtones. They sure have gotten big for a 1/2 ton truck.

I'll stick with my older RAM

I really like the look of my 2015. Chrome bumpers, traditional headlights, square wheel wells, Stepsideish styling queues. The 2016/17 Hood and front end design was too Tacoma for my taste. This new design looks too F150.

Wow that changes the look completely different. I gather your are of the opine that they should have kept them squared off, and I agree. I wonder why they decided this direction... Perhaps fuel economy? I'm still not completely sold on this truck, but it's and improvement. I have to reserve judgement when I see the normal one and 3500.

Fuel economy has nothing to do with the round openings vs. the squared off versions. Sharing inner fender wells with GMC may have driven some of the decision.

Interesting... I can't wait to see this truck in the metal and see how it looks with the traditional chrome grille and see if that does anything bad to the looks.

Also we can't forget the interior! Excitement abounds!

I'm surprised no one has posted here now that the truck has been revealed. I was pretty split on the looks now that I see it with the chrome grill, but let me tell you, the fact that we can get a straight six diesel now is a huge win. I think the Trail Boss is calling my name. Oh and the interior is nice too. It does not look like it's giving birth to plastic like it did before.
