I'm sorry, I had to skip the last 3-4 pages of going back and forth argument. The only real thing to take from here is that the opinions of this forum maybe at most count for 5% of Ferrari owners and buyers. Talk about rarity, when I remember to ask a fellow Ferrari owner if they are on FerrariChat, the reply is always no, what are you talking about. But these 5% are very passionate! BTW I think a better analogy would be, your born right handed but you choose to use your left and Your damn good at it
More like born with a conjoined twin that controls your left foot and right arm and you have surgury to be separated.
If I had a choice between a factory gated 430 vs. a converted gated 430, I would take the factory gated and pay a premium. Nothing logical about it, it's just the way I would lean...
Hmmm.. 2005, 17,000 Miles. Gated for $125,000 They are asking $90,000 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Wouldn´t it be great if manual conversions could be done easily by those that want it? I say encourage the knowledge spreading.
From what I understand, it's not that big of a deal...after I bought my factory gated, I kicked myself because someone was selling a full conversion for $5k...had I known before purchasing, I could have had more control over the car that I bought in my price range, but oh well, hindsight is what it is, I still enjoy my car.
Even though I am still not buying the $35k conversion cost, no way no how not ever, especially if the F1 parts are sold off to offset the cost, I'd say that looks like a great candidate.
That car was seriously tricked out. I would never have considered buying it if it was a regular 360 Modena with a manual, so I know where you're coming from. My 456M was so original it still had the original tires and only 7K miles.
My "inverted" 430 is elidgble for Factory CPO warranty once the 101 inspection is passed despite any alterations. Hmmmm.. imagine that...
I'd pass on anything that wasn't the "right " color combo. That would be the knock on this one if it's slow to sell. Always remember, this market is one that frets if for example, the original POS flashlight and trickle charger is missing.
Is this 458 manual idea retaining the DCT trans with a clutch pedal and stick or are you grafting a traditional manual trans into it?
Righto, I was guessing a DCT with stick and 3rd pedal might be a bridge too far. I can't believe all the haters! Lorenzo (woferrari) got nothing but praise when he converted his. I suspect all the haters worry for their manual car values if you convert 100 or more! I agree who cares if you or Luigi built it so long as it was done correctly.
Sadly and unfortunately, this is true in the Ferrari world. As an example, (I was told in this forum) a 599HGTE from the factory will always be worth more than a 599 retrofitted with factory HGTE kit. (But, what do I know?)
