Arthur Conan Doyle died about 40 years before your car was built.

If you are referring to the author of the Sherlock Holmes books according to wikipedia he died July 7, 1930. I suspect they are probably correct on this detail.

Welcome to Fchat. I'm a little confused, is this car for sale, or are we just talking about it? Maybe Conan O'Brien was previous owner?

    Ummm.......no.

But welcome! we are glad to meet you!

That is certainly a very early Dino and a rare and special car.
Not a factory race version unless maybe some Hillclimb competition, in a privateer team??

    Can you attach some pictures??

Good call, thank you. That should be bolded, or perhaps split off into a separate thread altogether, so as to avoid future confusion.

But since we're in this thread, can we clarify why there's a thread on 00398 in the first place?

Because Chassis 00398, delivered from Maranello to Switzerland in February, 1969 has a great story to tell. Clive Doyle, of Halifax England, bought the car in 1975 , race-prepped it and campaigned it with co-owner Eric Stansfield at tracks in England such as Oulton Park and Donington.
The photo of Chassis 00398 in action on page 260 of Jean-Pierre Gabriel's excellent book, "Dino / Les autres Ferrari" is actually Clive Doyle racing at Oulton Park (the book has the driver listed incorrectly as Californian Rob Shanahan). Shanahan owned and raced 00398 in the 1980's in America-- which he helpfully explains in another thread here with image showing him racing.
FYI, Clive Doyle now lives in New York, is still very active and has been driving the Mille Miglia 10 years in a row!
