Yeap. 1972 Volvo 1800 in beautiful condition. drives like a dream. you can see Guia/Frua design in it from all angles. I have had to stop with State Troopers behind me just to ask me about it.lol. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I also have a MaxJax and I do like it a lot but I would have to admit that if you want to leave it mounted in a semi-permanent fashion it is not possible to open the doors fully between the posts so you have to be careful getting in and out of the car. I actually positioned my post mounts at about a 20 degree angle in my garage so that if I pull the car in at an opposite 20 degrees when not using the lift both doors will clear the posts and open fully. But having owned it for a couple of years now I've found that it only takes about 15 minutes to set up from scratch so I normally never leave it mounted unless I'm using it. Another option would be a scissor type lift such as the Bendpak, at least for a 308 because there is really nothing in the center section of the car that you need to access but if you have other cars that have conventional drivelines that you would want access to a scissor lift wouldn't work out as well. But a scissor lift, especially if recessed into the floor would be an ideal permanent mounted lift that would be virtually invisible when not in use.
Very nice car. I really really like the design. Have seen many and driven a couple but good ones like yours are rare even in Sweden. Being a -72 it should be a P1800S? Funny thing is that S does not mean Sport, but instead that it was built in Sweden! From the start it was built by Jensen in England but Volvo were not pleased with the build quality and moved it to Sweden. I take this last from memory so please correct me. You have the car, I have a bad memory. /Peter
Peter I like the car so much I ordered an artist to paint it on canvas. Looks great I believe Volvo removed the P after manyfacturing was moved to Sweden so being a 1972 and built in Sweden this is a 1800 not a P1800. In addition this model is an E not an S. The wagon version is an ES. Cheers.
Sensing a theme in the pictures (hoods up, on jacks) and had a laugh at my own predicament. Car is down with a blown ignition relay and instruments fuse.... I am yet to unbox birdman's fuse box i purchased many years ago, so i may find a cardboard knife this arvo!. And the Duc is down with a battery sapping Dyna Coil setup which means ride duration is measured in minutes!. Anybody want to fix this while i watch the cricket? Congrats to all those with running cars today, take it out and enjoy it! Image Unavailable, Please Login
