Got a VBR 11-20 MPH on 99-W yesterday. I'd like to contest the VBR part. Could anyone here suggest a good local (McMinnville) traffic attorney? Thanks!
I don't know any traffic lawyers, but it would be great if you let us know if you find someone good. 99-W, at least from 217 to McMinnville, is pretty bad to speed on... lots of cops, and lots of traffic. Let me guess-- was this between Sherwood and Newberg?
Here's is an interesting discussion on the topic. https://www.expertlaw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124174
Sorry, I should have translated: Yes VBR is violation of basic rules which is the part I am unhappy with. There was no traffic at that time, the road was dry and the weather fair with unlimited visibility. It was in the straight line w/o any crossings before 99-W turns into a four lane and reached Dundee coming from McMinnville. Oregon State Police, unmarked patrol car. Just South of Dundee, going North. Thank you all!
and "↑ Here's is an interesting discussion on the topic. https://www.expertlaw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124174" I wouldn't rely on a 6 or 7 year old forum post and exchange about Oregon traffic law. Have you found an attorney yet? Unlike the conclusion of the thread in the "expertlaw" forum, the real issue is not simply what the fine amount might end up being, but the impact upon your insurance. PM me (well, "Conversation" me in this supposedly new and improved version of FCHAT) if you haven't found an Oregon traffic attorney to review this with as I have attorney contacts in the McMinnville area. Just curious - did you have a radar detector on at the time? If so, did you get any warning? Mark
