Nice car. Congrats and welcome to the team.

Thanks, everyone for the warm welcome! The car is in SF right now. Being picked up next Saturday. I've been in touch with the guys at Domenick's in White Plains, NY about having it delivered there and gone through (the last major was in 2005, but only 2K miles ago). Fingers crossed there won't be big surprises...but I'm bracing for a least a few good sized ones .
Welcome to the club I’m coming off my second year with my 86 328 Love ever minute of having it. Enjoy it! Once your cold snap stops.. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Ian, Welcome to F-chat! Congrats on your purchase. post some pictures of your '85 once it arrives in NY
I was going to bid on that car, but the low compression and "questionable head gasket" scared me off. Hope it works out!
Interested in what method you used to conclude the head gasket was questionable? PPI? Pictures? Oil in the coolant expansion tank? Had the water pump start weeping on my Euro QV last year which made it seem that the head gasket was leaking coolant. It was running off the water pump and down around the edge of the block. Low compression numbers can often be attributed to an individual’s lack of experience doing the check.
There was a work order from a shop that was visible. One of the things the shop wrote was “questionable head gasket on 5-8 cylinder head.” The seller was directly asked about it but chose to ignore the question.
