Took my car out today (430 Spider) after not using it for two months when it was serviced only to find the heater is only blowing cold air, checked on the net to find that a big possibility is the climate control, one guy took his out to check for dry solder joints etc, there were none, put it back in and it worked. I believe Ferrari's price to fit a new unit is £2500+ so, the logical thing to do is for me to check it over...but how is it removed as there are no screws, clips etc and it's not possible to do anything from the back?

    Any help would be appreciated!

Did you look in the 430 section and/or stickynomore website - can't believe it is not in one or the other

I've found one thread regarding this, but it doesn't mention the removal of the carbon fibre facia, is it just pushed on?

You need to remove the 4 screws for the F430 name plate with an Allen wrench and then remove the radio. Once both are removed you will see 4 Phillips screws holding the region panel. Once the panel is removed you can remove the heater control

Your brave Phil, its bloody freezing in Cardiff, never mind 20 miles North :)

Not a car I have spotted out and about.

    Thanks all for the replies.

I switched the mains off last night turned the power back on this morning and the heater now blows hot air which my wife will be pleased about. It must have gone wrong when Swindon did the service a couple of months ago!

Paul...I can guarantee that it's at least 4 deg colder here in the Darran Valley.

I do miss the runs we used to have many years ago that Leighton (I don't know if you now him) used to organise, usually from Cardiff West Services over to West Wales and back, there were usually around fifteen Ferrari's, now that was a sight and a sound.!!!

Here's a picture of my 430 on the delivery day and also my old 360 that my son bought off me.

Very nice :) I am guessing the runs were organised via the pistonheads regional subforum?

Anyway glad its all sorted, hopefully spot the car out and about sometime

There is an auxiliary pump for the heater system that can usually be changed without having to remove the unit. Make sure that is not the problem before yanking the climate control. If that pump is not operating, no warm air. Same pump fitted to multiple Ferrari models.

    Phil -

If the dealer disconnected the battery, then upon restart you need to have the climate control on AUX and turn full heat on. This is what my local Ferrari dealer told me to do if I disconnected the battery. The mechanic said that once the car is turned off, the HVAC system will "learn". I understand you fixed it so this information may be useful next time....or maybe not!

I think it was Pistonheads, are you saying there is a sub-forum here of that name?

An easy fix for the climate control and info about the Auto, saved me a lot of time and money, just by that switching off and on!
