So happy new year! How many F1 races will you try to attend in person in 2018? I will try to attend 5 Canada USA China 2 in Europe - will try Spa and Italy. Maybe Mexico... but not sure on that one. I hope for less parades and more everything else. Robb
0. Halo boycott. It’s the only way to teach the FIA to start caring about the fans. I’m all for safety but this seems crazy.
Yep, none for me too again this year, but medical reasons mainly, otherwise IF ferrari looked good, I’d probably go for Italy, maybe if I could swing it, get to Texas for the US GP (and bounce over to Vegas to make the most of the trip obviously). I don’t think for the moment I could be stood/sat in hard grandstanding for a long weekend without an adverse effect on my fight, so either way it’s tenuous
As I have for the past 20 years: One This year it'll be Montreal again. After Monaco still the best atmosphere in town. This town knows how to embrace a GP. Something Austin has not the faintest clue about.
Good luck, my Hybrid Formula boycott is running on fumes. I'm afraid that we are stuck with the halo but expect that it will evolve quickly into a more palatable solution.
At least 1 I took my girls (6 & 7) to Montreal last year, they loved it! The Family grandstand is great and well... the city is amazing, very good restaurants, our hotel had an beautiful indoor pool, so it was so nice after all the day at the track, to go back and relax at the pool and then go and have a nice dinner...last night out of nowhere my 7 year old asked me if we were going to Montreal this year...30 minutes later...same hotel booked and tickets purchased for the weekend!
I'll actually be in Montreal this year as well. Just booked a couple weeks ago. Going to try and hit Suzuka as well but I hear it's a bear to get to
I've never previously attended an F1 race. I'm strongly considering trying to attend one this year, though. I'm favoring Italy at this point. Also STRONGLY considering Japan, as I love being there and would like to turn it into a couple of week vacation. Any thoughts??? Kevin
Haven’t done Japan, but Monza is awesome, the Tifosi are hilarious and great to see a race with, but they are best when ferrari have a shot. Get there early or face the worlds funnest race, 8 lanes of traffic all Going into the track, on the pavement, the grass, the opposite carriageway, wrong way, every way.......... bloody hilarious and the factory must sell hundreds of new clutches that weekend alone!!! None - I guess if I wanted to watch Prius' race, I find a series doing that by definition. Agree with earlier post, wanting for race engines that sound like race engines to come back.
Possibly one , Paul Ricard in France . About the only one I haven't been to in Europe apart from from the 'Ring . but undecided becuase of the ugly HALO.
Another thumbs up for Montreal. Its the only venue I been to for the past 6 years so I have nothing to compare it to but I will say that this town really knows how to host an F1 weekend. Taking my son this year who just turned 18 so he is in for quite a weekend. I am trying to show him how to live the good life when you do good in school and choose a profession you love and are good at. Image Unavailable, Please Login
At this point, I think 5 but I might do a few more. I have to go from Tuesdays to Mondays so it's a lot of time onsite which is not always easy. If I could only do three days, I would do more.
Monza is easy: Fly and stay in Milan. Take the local train to Monza and use their special F1 race bus to the track. Get tickets for one of the chicanes.
Most likely 0 here as well. I would love to go to Austin but I haven't made it yet and probably won't anytime soon.
There are races like Mexico that I'd love to attend, but my motivation to go to them rather than watch at home followed the NA engines out the door.
Mexico is an awesome race venue. The stadium stands are some of the coolest and the after party is especially good.
