So, what do you think about prices now? About to leap into 2018 and from what I've been watching still going up. Just new to the brand, maybe I paid too much maybe not.

Depends on what you're watching, I guess - a lot of what I've been watching has been going down (which is good, for me!)

Here's a snapshot of what Testarossa prices are like on Hagerty.ca, down from a year ago and down from several years ago.

and 308 prices have come down as well (1985 QV - '83-85 GTS QV is what I'd love to have, ideally at pre 2013 prices! lol..

will the downward trend continue? Many private sellers haven't really adjusted their prices according to the current (and soft) market.

One thing all these graphs are missing.

2018 the US economy will grow 4% and trillions of dollars coming back.

Trends have always shown that once the income rises in the US high value goods tend to sell.

Keep an eye out on the auctions coming up. Prices may very well have bottomed out.

    Solid Point...
In addition, the strength of Canuck buck vs global currencies limits importation opportunities and inflates the Canadian Ferrari market

I take price guides with a grain of salt. The higher the value, more insurance can charge you!

I guess my problem was separating the emotional from the fiscal. Damn, waited a long time and wasn't sure Id be able to afford an F car and the prices just kept going up, soooooooo, I jumped. Read a thread somewhere that the middle class doesn't buy Ferrari's. Ha,ha, do so. I can sleep in my car, I can't drive my house.

Indeed! - I was surprised that this '84 QV sold at this weekend at Barrett Jackson Scottsdale for only $57K before buyer commission $62.7 with commission. Looks like a clean car (less a few engine bay details that are incorrect)

Most of the listings for cars this clean are considerably higher than this - making this one a bargain IMHO!

Our pricing normally is in American dollars on most collectible cars, not just Ferrari.

Yes. Mostly due to the fact that many of these cars are bought in the usa, brought up to Canada to sell. The seller must consider shipping, duties (if applied) taxes, exchange rate (which fluctuate by day) and obviously profit margin, factoring possible items that may need to be fixed as conditions of sale. So yea..prices will be higher.

Actually, most things are more expensive as everyone wants American dollars. Since they pay American for raw materials from America or even not. As most of our commodities are traded on the American exchanges. Our low dollar while its good for producers that get paid in American dollars. Us the consumer of these goods end up paying a lot more for things Vs Americans.

Is this a misprint? I didn't think any Ferraris came in automatic transmission

The Ferrari 400 came with an automatic :)

I've never driven an F1 355 or 360, but I'd imagine they can auto shift (auto mode) if one doesn't want to use the paddles. I know the 458 does have an automatic mode, but it's a different gearbox.

Just curious, 38K is high miles? It's an 18 year old car, and that averages to a little more than 2000km per year. I'd say that's decent/average. If I owned it since new, it would have quite a few more kms! :)

The 456GTA was an automatic as well. GM although not the same unit as used in the 400iA, as I recall.
