Hi all. I’ve been looking for a 348 TS for a while now and Ferrari Adelaide have just put up a 1991 Rosso Corsa with beige interior for $160K. Pics look excellent. Just had engine out service with all belts etc. 47,000 Km. Full books, tool kit etc. Only problem is it was Singapore delivered.

What do you guys think of the price? All the previous ones I’ve seen have been much less, max $135K for Oz delivered one, albeit with 100,000Km.

    Thanks,
    Jon

crazy money for 348. Why not get a good 360 for the same money, or for a little more a 430?

A member here recently sold his decent Aus delivered one for $150k AFAIK. I would walk away from a $160k imported 348. If imports dont bother you there is a white f430 spider for sale for a little more and a decent amount of imported manual 360s for same money.

I thought the same about the price. Also didn’t want an import but there are so few Oz delivered ones around, and NONE for sale [emoji22][emoji22]

I don’t like the look of the 360’s, and can’t afford more for a 430.

I suggest you wait for another 6 months, I can see 458s are coming down in price which pushes 430 prices down as well

Offer them 120K then sit back and wait a couple of months. I guarantee they'll call you.

Nobody will pay 160 for an import.

Also, you'd be much wiser to buy a TB.

Due to the leaks in the targa roof?

    No TB’s around either [emoji22]

Coupes always more sought after in the long run, applies to all Ferrari models.

Plus, GTS/TS are for gay pilots :)

Have you considered service costs, i.e engine out to change the cam belts every 5 years? It put me off after owning a BB, don’t think I’d buy another Ferrari that requires the engine to be pulled. There’s always something else that needs doing while the engine is out, $10k exercise every time. 348s were unloved for a long time, trading around the $70k and likely bought by owners that deferred various maintenance issues. Expect to throw $20k at any car you buy to sort some of these issues. Have you driven one? If you love them, go for it. If it was me, I’d spend $150k on a 360 instead

Thanks for your points. Yes, I have considered these costs and although it seems like a stupid design to have to drop the engine to do “routine” maintenance, I really love the look of the 348. Haven’t ruled out a TB, but do like being able to pop the roof out on a nice day.

I have driven one and love the feel (and sound). I’m not after a car to break any land speed records, or hoon around in. Just something that I like the look of, and has “reasonable” performance. Won’t be driven a huge amount, but won’t be a showpiece either.

As I’ve said before, I don’t like the look of the 360. I’ve always loved the 308, but prices on those are through the roof for a good one. A Testarossa would be nice, but out of my price range as well [emoji31]

Guess I’ll just keep looking and waiting till the right one comes up...

Fair enough, buy a targa, perfect for cruising around in the evening and the cabin will be a more comfortable place to be

A mate of mine recently sold a 348 Spider, Aus delivered, Rosso with tan interior, 16k klms, $150k. Do what Ian says. NOONE who has the faintest idea will pay that money for an import.

I noticed the badges are all missing off the rear looks like the car might have been resprayed? Also I think that pricing is silly considering another import 348 in similar condition just went for 95k in the same state.

You talking about the one that had the RHD conversion? Started at $125k and last I saw they were trying for $105k, then it sold.

You should consider a 328 GTS, timeless shape and not engine out either.
