Flaps and gills a la Speciale and new bumper skins plus more boost. No GTO moniker (but you knew that already). Areo pickup from underside. New seats, rims, possibly tires. Suspension stiffer and lower. Electric steering, a couple small motor mods, couple hundred higher redline, lower gearing for 0-62, CF intakes and plenum, engine surround optional. Lots of CF optional. A bit lilghter but not much. Sport exhaust optional. Updated electronics. New launch color. Not LE. Those unfamiliar will mistake it for the GTB. The same old same old.

Thanks for sharing. Last part "Those unfamiliar will mistake it for the GTB" doesn't sound particularly good, but I'll reserve my judgement for the official reveal.

If It got the Speciale treatment all around (reworked front/rear, extra vents, fins, you name it), then I think most people, especially enthusiasts, will be able to tell it immediately. Of course, I haven't seen the car so I'm not in the position to judge the new look and how much it differs from a standard GTB (and, personally, I don't expect big changes for the rear, which looked completely untouched in the spy shots we've seen so far).

That being said, I still can't wait to see it.

What, a sort of GTO thread fact? Sorry I don't believe it, Ferrari are not idiots, nor are they short of some of the worlds best engineers.

However, one day very soon they are going to have to wake up to CF tubs.

They have some good reasons for not going CF tub.

They do indeed, but they might have to junk them to stay competitive.

That may be true however in some cases the aluminum can be as light as CF I believe.

the times where alu chassis did a part of the suspensions job are over.

    CF tub all day.

as long it is for the 1/10 and doesn´t matter what it costs.

I think not going carbon fibre for the 488 successor would be a big mistake.

    I agree!

I think Ferraris philosophy is more about exclusivity and they have been holding the carbon fiber tub feature for their super elite cars the F50 F40 Enzo LaFerrari etc. etc. But they are going to have to change and go carbon fiber it is the way of the future Lamborgini is already using something even lighter and more advanced.

The replacement 488 will be made from the Portofino except the motor will be behind the driver. Same platform for both...

The new platform is modular. Different material layouts can be applied.
