he designed the AM so i guess he is just borrowing from himself

 

i wish the canopy were not so high and bulbuous; and i wish it had a longer trunk lid.

 

actually the story over on the fiskerbuzz site is that AM sent henrik a letter, and henrik turned around and sent them a letter.....and now they have stopped sending each other letters, and the design stands.....

 

For those reading who are familir with digital sculpting via Zbrush, this looks like someone used the “Pinch” brush a little too much !

As for the comments about the Dodge Ram truck and how the first generation with the look done under Lutz. Some years back had a conversation with Chuck Jordan about that truck (Chuck had retaired by the time of our conversation but he was talking of an incident while he was still GM's VP Design). He said that before the truck was introduced he and Lutz were someplace together. Although future product is supposed to be kept very secret Lutz was so excited about this new truck that he couldn't contain himself in talking about it being a breakthrough design.

Toyota/Lexus are just awful...

 

Question: Why is the Lexus grill called a "spindle grill?"

I tend to think of a spindle as a bulging and contracting column like you see on a chair back or a table leg. The overall grill outline might resemble the undulations of a spindle in one's imagination, but I think the grill profile resembles more of an hour glass. Can anyone elaborate?

 

damn that lexus is ugly

 

whoever signed off on that design is either seriously mistaken, or i have not kept up with modern sensibilities.
that thing is so ugly its as if they did it on purpose as a joke.
it makes the aztec look cute.

 

Maybe they took the 1957 Packard Hawk as inspiration?
