Well there's always someone who crashes a group that's way above their pay grade, lol. Here's my copycat fashion watch from the driver's seat of my Italian car... Some absolutely stunning pieces in here. I'm looking at getting a nice Seiko automatic this year if possible. Wonder if any of you have views on the Seiko brand. When I first started making some money, and no not like most of you, I bought this watch. At the time this was a big step up in my world. I moved up from my Timex. Many years later I still wear it daily. Yes I now have more expensive watches but this one really means something to me. I know every so often I pop in this thread and just say Movado, but now you know the story behind it. I have a box full of nice watches at home but they will never have the meaning behind them that this one does. My pride and joy, my Movado Image Unavailable, Please Login
My first vintage Seiko arrived today, a "Pogue". Just got turned on to these gems this weekend, and was inspired to head right out and source one. This will be my watch for the weekend at Cavallino! Image Unavailable, Please Login View attachment 2494115
Seikos are held in high regard. They're built like tanks and are very competitively priced. If you want to just dip your toe in the water, and you seem to like diver's watches, then the Seiko 5 is a well-loved classic. http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-Stainless-Steel-Automatic-SNZF15/dp/B001ELSSOO/
I bought this Seiko Automatic in Spain and love the looks, and the machine is impeccable. for 450 Euros I am happy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was looking at my Versa winder the other day, and being whom I am, I couldn't help but I decided to mess with it. During daytime, I can see the watches (I enjoy doing that...) but in the dark, I can't see anything right? so, I decided the Versa watch winder needed some internal illumination.....lol. Got me some small tools, a couple of 4.5 mm LED bulbs, precision screw driver, sol dering iron, a proper resistor, and went to work. took it apart, installed the bulbs, selected (very carefully) where to drill 5mm holes and assembled everything back. Now I am happy....lol. Enjoy the pics fellas. P.S. Yes I had some free time! This was the first watch i purchased when i started making some $$ . I gave it to my eldest son as a gift when he moved out and he wears it everyday now, that watch means more to me over any of the higher end watches i own.
Very cool. Like your Movado, every one of my watches has a sentimental meaning, ... and some of them are not particularly fancy. I wear them because they are reminders of something. I love my Seiko Moonphase. One of the first "nice" watches I actually bought for myself. It still looks great and runs flawlessly: very well built.
