https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2002-ferrari-575m-maranello-2/ Current bid is $70,575 with three days left. 39,400 miles. And it has shields! lol Image Unavailable, Please Login
While BaT has sold some quite high dollar value cars recently (>$100k), I could be wrong but it's hard for me to believe this will get to the ~$135k or so range. Car looks to be in good shape, mileage is a bit high for some but not really (only in Ferrari world is 40k miles considered "high" mileage...). My guess is it won't reach reserve. But one never knows....that's half the fun!!
Looks like a nice basic F1 575M 129079, AN 46196 for a reasonable price. Another file photo I had. Looks a lot like mine when I first got her, except for interior color. Image Unavailable, Please Login
i sell you 2 of that car for $135k. it wouldnt be the first time somebody on BaT overpaid. and its not like two comparable cars were no sales on ebay in the $80-90k's.......
$135k for two? Please let me know when even bad examples of 575F1s start going for $67k. I suspect a large number of folk on here would be crying the blues bigtime!! I'll grant you the market has been slow of late. Lots of things, not just Ferraris, aren't making seller's minimums and reserves. In spite of generally good economic conditions, things don't seem ripe with free cash, a prerequisite for a robust exotic and collector's car market. Folks are being more cash conscious. Just ask any good Swiss watch dealer!!
my bad grammar.... $135k each..... i havent noticed any sellers responses to the body and TB questions.....
the bid is over $70k for this one on BaT right now, thats solid for the mileage. I have a 2002 575 red/tan with half the miles,20,600 miles, daytona seats, major service done within last 2 months(500 miles ago) and there was a challenge stradale that came up for sale near me I wanted so I called the Ferrari dealer who had it and they offered me $82k for mine this was a couple weeks back....so needless to say deal didn't happen. I dont mind its a beautiful car and drives great, the stradale was awesome but I doubt my wife would have liked going to dinner in it as much as the 575.
I have no idea. The used Ferrari market is divorced from all other markets, which are sailing right along, while all Ferraris not manuals or special editions are soft. I love the classic color and options.
I'm going to say that 135k will be in the ballpark. If I had to guess I would say somewhere between 120 and 135k. If seller gets near to 150 I would say a very good number for the seller. No question the market has softened recently; asking AND selling prices reflect this. Good luck to seller and buyer.
no way this car sniffs $135k, it probably wont sniff $90k. There was a high miles 48k miles car on ebay recently asking $85k, not sure if it sold. This red car is maybe worth $90-95k just bc its red. Im watching it closely and may be listing mine after depending on what it gets. Mine has half the miles, if this got $135k id list it tomorrow I cant find anything on BaT about how the payment works, how does it all work, I didn't see anything in the FAQ. I saw fees but nothing about the payment. Does it go to BAT and they pay the seller once car is picked up? Can you do a PPI? Things like that
I'm sure you're right F355, 135k might very well be a stretch. I haven't looked through the listing and seen its specs, service history, condition, etc. so..... Wow; you really think this won't break 100k?
I think those wheels are not what this car need to be an outstanding one Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Wheels are the easiest thing to change. I have no problem with the 18" monolithic wheels, but maybe Barchetta modulars would make it more aggressive. I'm betting I wouldn't like the ride of the 19" modulars. I didn't like the Barchetta wheels on my 456M. 17's were way smoother.
The BaT works....if you want a PPI, arrange it with the seller prior to the auction closing. You must have a credit card pre-approved by BaT and as soon as the auction closes, your card is tagged for the buyer's premium. You then are given contact information and arrange to complete the sale with the seller directly.
doubtful bc like I said a 48,000 mile one was just for sale on ebay for $85k buy it now and it didn't go I dont think. The 575 is really underrated imo, from Taz' spreadsheet, less than 600 of these amazing machines made it to the US. If you factor in wrecks and cars we've lost forever I would imagine that number is closer to 500 or below at this point. IMO its the most beautiful "modern" ferrari shape ever made, the 550 is an awesome car too, dont get me wrong, but as someone in his early 30s myself, most of my friends dont know how to drive a stick believe it or not, nobody ever taught us while I was younger, my generation never really drove sticks. Isn't that insane? So for me the maranello was my dream car in my teenage years and now as an adult with some money, I bought one, just like the poster I had on my bedroom wall: red/tan. So I personally believe as my generation ages the cars we idolized: diablos, murcielagos, 575s, etc will appreciate drastically the same way cars from the eras the 50-75 year olds are from appreciated today. Cars are all about passion and we buy them bc they were once our dreams right? For sub $100k this particular 575 is an awesome car, sure 2064 were made, but how many of those are in the US? Not many, for $85k what cooler car are you gonna buy? A new BMW M3? I might not be the most seasoned auto investor, but as someone who is a trader for a living, I spend my days scouring through equities searching for undervalued assets, as a car lover, I personally feel the 575 is that at this particular juncture. The fact an entire generation of guys my age and younger are coming and none of us know how to drive sticks, thats only a plus when you step back and look at the 575 as not just an automatic Ferrari, but the first v12 road car with an antiquated single disc clutch system that we dont use anymore. The car is an icon to us youngsters, the old guys hate it bc it doesn't have a stick.....its a tug of war that will resolve itself over time.....hopefully we still have people who know how to drive sticks in 50 years.
Eric- Those are the correct wheels for an early 575M. She was built just before they started fitting the 19" wheels as options.
Honestly the timing belts are cheap, I just did mine for $2500. For being needed every 5 years, thats nothing. Changing fluids once a year is $1000-1500 too. Its definitely not as expensive as a 355 to keep up with.....fuel now, thats another story haha it needs $100 out here in miami for a fill up Henry I see your comment on there, I dont think it says it needs $3k, i think he paid it already
I am too thats why Im interested in selling mine. Mine has has red daytona inserts, a major within the last 2 months, and half the miles!
from my dealing with BaT, i am surprised that agreed to a reserve that high. they rejected a G Wagon I wanted to list at wholesale and i have an e28 M5 coming up today i think....
And that's pretty much where she stalled. $90.5k which didn't meet reserve. I'm with henryr here, the seller has no one to blame but himself. Spend anytime on BaT and one quickly realizes that engaged sellers get rewarded with much more spirited bidding. Those absent, get punished. No Reserve here is a self-inflicted wound.
F355 got it exactly right, RNM at $90,500. My guess is that this auction, along with the earlier eBay listing, are good indicators of the present day "market" value for these cars (575M F1).
