Another alloy long nose 275 GTB 2 cam found in the video below which was posted on youtube in November, 2017. Don't know when found or where, though the car has a California Historic Vehicle license plate. The guy in the baseball cap and shorts looks like the Barn Find Hunter?

Not exactly a barn find, it was hiding in plain sight. The car was staged to appear to be a barn find; moth eaten carpets replaced the originals, the car was fogged with dust from a shop vac. It sold strongly at auction to a sophisticated collector who should have known better--or perhaps he just didn't care.

Was it JM who bought it? If so its being used almost daily now. Can't be mad about that.

You're better informed about the marketing and sale of 08163 than I am, but if we throw out the loaded 'barn find' terminology, I think what he bought was a real car with great patina. A survivor (of some version or another) if you will.
That's what got me excited about the car when it came to market- its being an unrestored car. To my eye, just a lovely old 275 that hadn't been surgically restored to better than new.
The kind of scruffy yet original car I'd love to have.

Do you think the info/video about 08125 could be a for a staged sale too?

Not to mention what appears (at least to my untrained eye) to be collaboration of skilled professionals responsible for the set design & staging arrangements along with well rehearsed script, right camera angles and editing, although I don't expect actors in this "episode" to receive any major industry award nominations for their less than fully convincing "performances".
Perhaps the cars and garage were doused with actual pixie/pixar dust ? Welcome to Auction Productions !
Perfect lead time for Monterey ?

It seems he did know better as the car is worth a lot more now than the $1.54M he paid for it at the 2011 Pebble Beach Gooding auction.

Just to clarify Timo, 375+'s comments are in reference to the marketing and sale of 08163 (featured in the video in post #14) at Gooding PB in 2011.
Not to be confused with 08125, the subject car of the thread... which may, as you predict, feature in a PB auction of its own.

As I recall the buyer of s/n 8163 sold a 7 figure Ferrari the same weekend at another auction. Assuming that he was using like kind dollars, his cost basis for the 275 was something near zero. Up, down or sideways he didn't necessarily know better, he just didn't care. That's a great position to be in, good for him.
