    I agree Tesla Model S not the best looking car until you do the wheels and some skirt/spoiler mods. What is everyone comparing it to when saying it is ugly? The car is of course not competing with Ferrari for looks. I saw a new Mercedes E class yesterday and I couldn't believe how ugly it was! That seems to be the 4-door car Tesla is competing with and the Model S blows it away!

    I think it’s great looking.

    I just drove one yesterday. It’s hugely fun.

    I wouldn’t want to own one, though. I prefer cars that make noise when burning liquid dinosaurs.

    But the Tesla is a great design. It speaks its own design language. It knows exactly what it is.

    It's not ugly. It -is- pretty bland and non-offensive. It blends into traffic, especially in silver or white. For most of the target market, that's not a bad thing at all.

    I think bland is a good description, but I wonder what people are saying who think it is ugly. what is worse than ugly for the Mercedes?

    I take an e63 amg any day looks wise.
    Now your buddy Jerryz says the Tesla is actually in the same category of a S class or 7 series which, specially with amg looks or m package, i also prefer.
    The tesla is not ugly its just a bit dull.

    To me it always looked like a Jaguar with all of the features smoothed off [for obvious aerodynamic reasons].

    I agree though that MB is taking that *one* look too far between the CLA>C>C-Coupe>GLA>E>E-coupe>CLS>S>S-coupe it's as if they took the same basic design and stretched the length and height to fit every single segment from $34k to $134k.

    Love this! Was at a startup meeting last night for our island ev car club.....so wish I could have used this description of PHEV's.....could have scored big points with all the local tree-hugger/priuspushers!
    Out of 11 attendees, one TSLA 80, 1 Bolt (same owner), and 10 Nissan Leaves. I wanted to make a statement, so we drove up in our R8 V10......(the F450 diesel dually was in the barn/too cold)....:D
    I wanted to see if they would allow a "powertrain confused car" into the club......."yes, OK, but when are you going to get a 'real' EV?"
    I do already have a charger at my new guest house......I hoped that would score some points with the club....

    (still shopping, Ross.....):cool:

    The Tesla model S is an incredible car and Tesla as a brand will change the world. Anyone who thinks big auto can and will compete with them isn't looking at whats going on. Its too late, big auto cannot compete with Tesla, they're growing at breakneck speeds and really forcing big autos hand. I think its awesome to watch and Tesla is my largest investment.

    The irony of course is that Fisker and musk were together initially and this was one of the design possibilities for the tesla.
    Then egos and opinions clashed, and they went their separate ways, and the fishers looked good and ran less good, and Tessa's ran good and looked less good.
