Cam belt tension ; do you rely only on the tensioner , measure the tension of just the old 90° twist method ?
Proceeding Sadly first measurements on valve clearance are not ok . All the rest we find is good. ( bearings, belts, wiring, tubes, connectors,....) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1/2" cordless impact driver will make very quick work of that bolt. 1100 lbft breakaway torque.
I used a Hilti impact driver. Worked perfect. Checked valve clearance. Not so good. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Removing belt , camshafts. Before removal tested the belt and it was 120-130 Hz on Gstrings app. So tension was still ok. Put on TDC and marked everything. Camshaft alignment marks are spot on. Oil pan is difficult to get loose. You only have to remove all the 13 , 10 and 17mm bolts yes. Not famous copper bolt on the bottom of the oil tank.
So what part of the job is difficult? Thinking of dropping mine to reseal with Hondabond. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
Getting the bond loose was PITA. It took a very, very long time carefully breaking it with pulsating force with a 2 meter long small wooden beam and a lot of WD40. All very carefully. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I see. Sounds like yours was properly sealed. I doubt mine is since it is currently leaking from a few different spots! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
I also found something very strange on the bottom tensioner. Look very carefully but i think the fixed arm should be on the other side from the spring arm. Not ? The fixed arm seems also bended. I will look in to it this evening.
Indeed there is something wrong. I looked into the history of the car and found nothing on work on this part. Could this be from factory ?? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
