Thanks. It's a G50/50 5 speed from an '89 911 turbo. Did a side shift conversion to shorten things up so the 288 bodywork would fit. Your car is inspiration for me......I want to be driving mine too this coming year.....so much work little by little.
My head gasket sealing is on par with pro-stock drag race setups. Copper head gaskets with wire inserts on the cylinder liners, plus receiver grooves machined into the heads. It's basically interlocked together. 14 psi of boost isn't much on E85. I have run my MR2 at 42 psi, that's an effective compression ratio of over 32:1. Aaron
I gave a friend a ride. He posted this to his Facebook page: So here's the first Ferrari I've ever ridden in in my life. I've seen plenty at car shows sure, but this was the first one I've ever sat in and rode in, and I'm glad this is the one that gets the "first" title. The car is absolutely stunning in person, pictures don't do it justice. Aaron has done an amazing job on it and it's jaw dropping to see up close. Then there's the engine... I honest to God thought the front end was coming off the ground when he got on it and put the turbo to work. I didn't bother videoing because that does nothing because you can't feel it, and let me tell you, every time he got on the gas, it was an instant smile, and that's absolutely what it's all about and why we love this hobby. We took the 308 to Eagles Canyon Raceway and had a blast. More details coming on that in January. We also put the car back on my dyno last week. We realized the closed loop boost control had reduced the boost level. The clutch has broken in and seems to offer more grip, we had no issues at the race track. We decided to change up our boost control strategy a little bit and raised the boost to 16.5 psi, which rewarded us with a terrifying 620whp. I'm usually not a fan of a Ferrari that isn't red... but I have to say, that boxer-blue combo is simply gorgeous!
I can't believe we had to wait an entire year for more on this gorgeous car ! It will always be one of my favorite 308's.....everything just came out right on it.
I race you NYC to LA for pink slips,,,51857 qv euro mk e efi ,,350 lbs of oem parts in storage,,22 mpg @ 90mph
I've been listening to the Smoking Tire podcast and heard that Matt got to drive your car(s). I can't wait to see the video!
Yes. Matt Farah came out and drove four of my cars. (800hp MR2, 600hp C4 turbo corvette, 450hp Lotus Esprit, and the turbo 308). The Ferrari was his favorite of the batch. The videos should come out in the next couple of weeks. I can't wait.
Great one take this morning. I think you hit all Matt's check boxes on tuned cars and you made him smile and laugh - the greatest compliment of all! Most of all he complimented the build quality! I am curious about the 348 heads.... you mentioned they needed a little work to get them to fit. What exactly did it take? I didn't know they would fit on a 308 block... Great to see your work come to life! Congrats! Spencer
