I don't believe that is allocation criteria and numbers....it is more Ferrari identifying and highlighting the potential target market from their internal statistics. The exact allocation criteria is a bit more involved and will probably differ slightly from region to region as the actual production numbers are likely considerably lower than the potential identified pool.

It is my understanding that all Challenge owners are at the top of the buy list. Ownership of any other car is unnecessary.

I wonder what will happen if/when the Challenge owners will be selected to get the alleged LE - will they keep both VS and LE or will that mean some used VS becoming available?
(this question is based on speculation anyway, so answering it may not be relevant)

I did. But quite honestly no one really knows if the 11 names picked by Ferrari were even all the original names submitted by the dealership. Let alone what cars they have or currently own. Let's just say that when it comes to picking clients for various models the process can be quite fluid and not always completely objective.

Thank you very much. I don't know in USA, but here the 488 GTB base price is 182 K euro + 22% IVA . Means the 488 GTB Speciale will cost 50% more than the standard car, more or less.

    ciao

Not exactly, if the low 3's is in USD; that would make it about 25% more expensive (considering the US price for a GTB). Which is consistent with a base price of EUR 270k to 280k (incl. VAT, which is similar - from 19% to 22% - in most EU countries), which has been mentioned before in this thread.

The production numbers will be a LOT MORE LIMITED in number / production time - imho..... partly info , partly common sense

This is the real question!!! IF 488 LE has only some pretty color and trim, I cannot see Challenge racers owning both normal VS and LE, so, I am now convinced that 488 LE is a bit more than just taylor made 488 VS with equal mechanics, engine and aero.

In any case, unless the owners are collectors, keeping both cars does not seem to make much sense - they should be very similar, the LE just being "better" in some ways (slightly better, or far better, depending on the changes Ferrari will elect to make).

Maybe it’s more kind of a Fuori Serie, like the J50 which is meant for a selected market segment. Just Not the Japanese customers but the Challenge customers this time.

Again ,coming from my dealership. I was told that world wide production of the VS model would be limited to 900 units. Yes, i know the number sounds ridiculously low especially if the coupe version is not LE. But both the the Aperta and tailor made versions will be.

another way to look at this is: if you know a lot of Challenge drivers who are passing on a VS allocation, then it's more likely that the rumored 488 LE is real.

I agree, J50, other than being very different in body versus every other Ferrari, had 20 hp more than 488 just to differentiate it, so 488 LE is likely to have 20 hp more than 488 VS.

My money is on a harder-core limited version of the upcoming VS, as other people have already stated.
