I’ve never driven either, so my response is based on speaking with two owners (one 959 and one F40) and hearing Rick Mancuso tell stories about when he test drove a customers car on the track. All of them said the F40 is very raw and is a blast to drive out in the country or on a track, but if you get stuck in traffic it is a nightmare. The 959 owner said the car comes alive on the open road, but isn’t unbearable in the city.

    550. I just think the lines look cleaner. Plus I like the traditional stick shift.

For value retention, 550 all day long.

Since I already have a 90s supercar with a MT, I personally would opt for the extra 125 hp

    488. Better lines. The Huracan is too over the top for me.
Non-Ferrari vintage mid engine Pantera or Bora.

288 GTO or F40. That would be a very tough decision.

512TR although the non engine out belt service of the 360 is very appealing.

I was amazed by the 959 when I first read about it in 1987. Its specs weren't even believable back then. Today a 959 to me is just a dated looking Porsche that's specs are just average. I would rather have a 2015 Turbo (the last year of a stick shift) than a 959. F40 0r 959? No contest F40!

FUN GAME! I will do my best to keep it short....

Enzo! (thought the MC12 is a cool car and ideally one would have both!)

430 Scuderia. I am not a huge fan of the shake present in most mid engine open cars. The 675LT looks great in pics but in real life the additions to the 650/MP412C body make it look really large to my eyes. Plus, I don't really like how they sound. I would expect the performance to be that much further beyond the Scud, but I would take the 430 Scuderia!

Ohhh tough one. For actually living with, the 488. But... it would appear (I have not yet driven one) Lamborghini has accomplished something truly special with the Performante. My gut reaction is to pick that, just by a tiny amount. And then I say to myself- but you love Ferrari! True, but we can acknowledge when someone else has done something truly special as well.

Enzo. For me not even close. To my mind the P1 is too conflicted because its only at its best when its in track mode, but that is completely unusable on the street. All street cars are compromises, so I would rather have the one that understands its a street car. Also the Enzo's look has really grown on me over the years. I never liked the P1 and I have not developed an appreciation for it. I also think its too mechanically similar to the MP412C/650S and in my mind thats a big negative.

    Mondial 8.

    550. They are now both old cars. I think the 550 has more character (totally subjective - but all of this is). I think both are beautiful, in their own ways. If I was looking to do longer highway drives, the 599 would be the choice. But I am basing these reactions to what first pops into my head with the choice- and here its the 550.

Another tough one. I would go with the 458. Better looking (though the Scud is great also), much better built (at least thats how it feels), wider spread of abilities, yet in race mode and driven in anger can be even more than the Scud (at least on public roads), I think better exhaust note, and overall just better. HOWEVER, if you said- you can have 5 laps of your favorite track in either one, I would pick the Scud because it is a little more focused on being that "track day special". I love the F430. Its one of my favorites. But I think they really achieved perfection with the 458.

No way. I've driven one. It was terrible. It just felt like the car was not developed for a stick shift. I love stick shift, but I would much rather drive a 599 with the F1 transmission. On the other hand, I'd much rather drive a 575 with a stick shift.

There are some in the US.

F40. To me the 288GTO is great, but its the preamble to the F40. Only the F40 is the F40.

Tough one... V12 vs V8... My gut reaction goes to the 512TR.

Not even close... F12TDF. Modern classic in my opinion. 918 has amazing performance but for a supercar its pretty large and the styling is generic to my eyes. The F12 in any variant could never be mistaken for anything other than a Ferrari. And the TDF is just the most amazing version of the car.

How about 250 SWB vs 250 TDF?

I love both. I can't decide! Maybe I go with the 250 TDF because its slightly less obvious, but I love both. I would cry (with happiness) if either of these were in my garage.

Another toughie. I go with the Scuderia. I like the look better and the greater performance. But the CS is probably the better investment.

550 easily over 575 for me. I appreciate the cleaner look and also the first front engine V12 since the Daytona....

    How about...

    Daytona vs 550?

550 Barchetta Pininfarina vs 575 SuperAmerica?

    275 GTB (could be /2 or /4) v Daytona?

    Dino v 308?
